In 2025, AI-driven scams surged 1,210% and deepfakes were involved in more than 30% of high-impact corporate impersonation attacks.
The verification methods that worked until now cannot keep pace with the threat. That’s why
@IDme is upgrading how we protect members.
We are rolling out two changes across verification pathways:
➡ First, duplicate checks to catch repeat fraud.
@IDme will compare each new selfie submitted during verification against a secure gallery of previously verified selfies — inside
@IDme's environment only. This is similar to what DMV’s do today and stops fraudsters from trying to create multiple credentials.
➡ Second, every remote proofing pathway will now involve a short video selfie check for Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) to confirm a real, physically present member is on the other end of the camera.
Together, these upgrades harden our defenses against tactics being deployed by both individual fraudsters and organized crime rings.
@IDme will continue to protect its members and strive to leave no identity behind.
