so i had to completely reverse my initial stance on Marathon (it sucks) Actually it kind of rules and feels like I'm back at my Mac Performa II playing Syndicate for the first time. This is a classic cyberpunk RPG with all the other players part of the act.

It's a big corporate gaming division. They are simply having her learn their products as part of onboarding. Don't look for "gamer cred" where they don't even want/need it. You might find that at actual small, startup studios.
Odd story building up on Xbox's new CEO Asha Sharma. Part of an ongoing rabbit-hole of a discovery concerning Microsoft's new Gaming Division CEO Asha Sharma. We have been told that the new CEO of Xbox will be good for the brand the Microsoft's Gaming Division. That we should just ignore or disregard the incompatible skillset of her work history vs the proper demands as the head of Gaming. Ok fine...but well problems start to arise when the new CEO showed her Xbox account to "dispel doubts". People started scrutinising, and odd things started cropping up: 1. the very FIRST achievement she unlocked was dated...16 January 2026, Halo MC Collection. So it is at best a one month old account. 2. achievements for multiple games unlocked on the same date, implying non organic grinding of various distinct games within the span of one day. 3. 100% completion in short "walking sims" type games like Firewatch (Jan 20, 3-4 hours total), Gone Home, A Short Hike, Townscaper, and BALL x PIT (she played for 43 hours in one week?) 4. How does the future CEO of Xbox have this much time to no-life so many different video games at once in such a short span of time? I doubt the future CEO has this much time to just play games if we are led to believe all her playtime is legit. IF its legit, it also raises questions about her procrastinating in her roles, playing games instead of actually doing work. So what does this mean? Welp people are suspecting that New CEO here, got someone from Microsoft to Stage an Xbox account for her, to manufacture legitimacy and trying to get people to stop scrutinising her nonexistent work experience in Video Games and possibly non-passion for it. Well if that is the case, firstly - they're doing an extremely bad job at it, and secondly - lying to Gamers' faces is just going anger them even more. I would have hoped Satya and Asha realised that, if it turned out Asha's entire Xbox account was really just staged.

I have nothing really against AI, but for the creative fields (minus commercial applications), the sacrifice of time and effort is what makes art worthwhile. Extending much further, our finite nature is what makes human experiences precious.

i didn’t think i’d become one of those “death is what gives meaning to life” people but it’s becoming clearer that human art derives part of its meaning from the way the artist sacrificed part of their finite life to make it. they could have done anything but not everything and they chose to devote months or years to this one thing in particular. that’s part of the message being communicated, is that sacrifice of potentiality, that choice to shower devotion on one thing and not another thing. i think part of what deeply offends people about AI art is the way it obviously gets used by people who effectively want to pretend to have made this sacrifice without having actually made it

Unironically best type of neighborhood, as long as there's a few cool young neighbors right next door.

This is very true. Being in shape does not equate to dressing well. Two entirely separate goals.

so much of adulthood is just grieving in secret. grieving ex lovers, grieving dead friendships, grieving your parents sinking into old age, grieving the person you thought you'd grow into. grieving cities you never got to live in. grieving parts of you that couldn't survive.

We appreciate the Second Circuit confirming today what is clear under the federal securities law: there's no private liability for the secondary trading of digital assets on exchanges like Coinbase. Why? Because contracts matter. 1/2

I agree with this. BTC is now the boomer crypto asset, and priced out of reach for most. ETH is now where BTC was last cycle(s), and a premium chain. SOL is where retail will come back to play. They come after news starts covering BTC above 100k.

Solana is the new ETH for this cycle. No matter how much you will it to not be. All the best scam meme coins are on SOL, it’s cheaper, faster, nicer wallet, less WEF soy boy hippie energy, CNBC boomer shills love it more, it’s just hotter right now. ETH community already got rich and doesn’t care about marketing. They can’t put themselves in the mindset of someone trying to get rich today. They want others to fail while they become kings. They want to run network state experiments and LARP around in Zuzalu and try to become immortal and dissociatemaxx and go to Aella orgies. It’s a culture that doesn’t care anymore.

When BTC hits 100k is when media starts to drum up attention.

Many people think Web3 gaming is about owning items in big open world games but that's skeuomorphic and backwards looking. Web3 native gaming is gambling on meme coins. The reality is people don't care about owning some NFT in a game for any reason other than to make money. They don't care about moving items between games or uncensorability. They only care about making money. Meme coins skip the unnecessary steps. The game is to guess the next popular meme. There is no sophisticated quantitative analysis to do and smart institutional investors don't have an edge. That's what makes it fun, you don't have to overthink it.
