Statement: ipaa.org/independent-produce… IPAA President and CEO Edith Naegele: “IPAA strongly supports this bicameral legislation introduced by Senator Lummis and Congressman Pfluger to bring regulatory clarity to small producers on the management of their air emissions. Historically, the EPA has regulated the industry with a top down, one-size-fits-all approach. This leaves small producers continually fighting through regulatory uncertainties unanticipated by the federal agency. Operating costs continue to rise, market conditions for oil and natural gas can be volatile, and changing presidential administrations create additional uncertainty. This bill allows states to manage emissions from low production wells efficiently and effectively. IPAA has worked on this issue with state and national industry partners for many years and will keep supporting small energy producers and collaborating with other industry advocates to advance the interest of America’s Independent oil and gas producers.”

This afternoon, I met with representatives from @IPAAaccess, an organization that has supported independent oil and natural gas producers for more than 95 years. We discussed how independent producers help power the nation’s energy supply, support jobs, and keep our economy moving. These companies operate most of the country’s oil and natural gas wells and play an important role in maintaining a reliable domestic energy supply. As the lead Democrat in lifting the crude oil export ban, I’ll keep working with industry leaders and stakeholders to advance policies that strengthen energy security and support responsible development.

The RED Tape Act from @RepJohnJoyce and @HouseCommerce is an important step for permitting reform - modernizing NEPA by removing duplicative reviews which delay energy projects, increase costs and put jobs at risks. IPAA encourages legislators to support the bill on the House floor this week.
