Dan Gilroy's imagination is limited so his idea of unique planets is just "oh here's the Scottish Highlands" or "here's a planet full of wheat." This isn't a problem unique to him as all of Disney's Star Wars has it but it showcases a creative bankruptcy across the board.

Yes, but these contemporary callouts do not corrode the perrenial timelessness of the mythology. It's the Metal Gear Solid vs Family Guy Trump episode thing all over again. Andor has no timelessness, it will feel dated in 5 years the same way the Boys seasons do.

One time clones looked good in Disney live-action is, funnily enough, in Book of Boba Fett. That's because they were CGI. It looked like they even lifted the movement straight from Revenge of the Sith. In every other Disney show they were practical, and they looked very shoddy.
