He Survived the Genocide. He Shouldnโt Lose His Leg Now.

I wish I were writing this note to share good news.
Instead, I am writing because someone we care about urgently needs help.
His name is Momen
@mwmnalmsry07. He is 23 years old and from Northern Gaza.
During the genocide, Momen watched his father be murdered before his eyes.
In that same violence, Momen suffered a serious injury to his leg. But there was no treatment. Northern Gaza was under blockade. Hospitals had collapsed or stopped operating. There was nowhere to go, no doctor to see, no surgery to receive, no safe path out.
So he waited.
Days became weeks. Weeks became months.
The wound never healed.
Now the injury is severely infected.
Since his father was killed, Momen has become the sole provider for a family of 10 while living through displacement, grief, and impossible conditions. Their home was destroyed. They now survive in a tent that cannot protect them from the heat, the cold, or the uncertainty of each day.
And stillโhe keeps going.
The burden of caring for my family while coping with my injury has been overwhelming.
But this is becoming urgent.
We are trying to raise $500 to cover medical treatment for his leg and basic necessities during treatment. This amount also accounts for transfer and processing fees so enough arrives to actually access care.
This is not a luxury. This is not comfort.
This is treatment for an infection that has been left untreated for far too long.
I keep thinking about the unbearable unfairness of surviving bombardment only to suffer because medical care was impossible to reach.

Please do not scroll past this one.
Momen has already lost so much.
Letโs not allow an untreated injury to take more.
