He opened his eyes and smiled when I arrived & held his hand out to be held. He wanted to know why I had come to see him tonight whilst he was asleep on the streets.

In London, 24,400 commercial properties currently sit empty.
22,500 of those have been empty for 6 months.
That's 6,500,000m², or 27 Westfield Shopping Centres of floorspace, sitting empty, unused.
Why are people sleeping rough?

More than 1,000 people are being made homeless every single month. 1 in 200 people are either living in temporary accommodation or sleeping rough - this is around 320,000 people. This is a national scandal which the government are wilfully fuelling through dire political choices.

Last night @sammicraig117, @Swarezzzzz & @EmmaLownds cooked for the guests & volunteers at one of our local #homeless #nightshelters. Cottage Pie, Pasta Bake, Apple Pie, Crumble & Brownie were all on the menu & greatfully received 💕 #InKnitTogether #homelessness #HomelessShelter
