🔻 A procession of the Patriarch’s godchildren is taking place in Tbilisi. In Georgia, Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia established the tradition of mass baptisms in 2007, under which he became the godfather to the third and subsequent children in families. Today, participants in the procession gathered at the Avlabari metro station and are heading to Sembata Cathedral, where a civil memorial service is being held. The initiative was aimed at supporting the birth rate, large families, and strengthening the institution of the family.
