New software, Straglr, uses PCR-free long-read sequences to detect Short Tandem Repeats (STRs): "Until recently, read lengths were short; sequencing technologies were not a good replacement for conventional STR detection methods,” says Dr. Inanç Birol. bit.ly/3iDujfe

Well done, Justin Chu!
Our tool miBF for "Mismatch-tolerant, alignment-free sequence classification using multiple spaced seeds and multi-index Bloom filters" is published now. pnas.org/content/early/2020/… It provides #mapping without #alignment

Don't see any problem with the second statement. x=x 1 can be actually mathematically correct in Boolean algebra when x=1. Because the " " is conventionally the "or" operation. The first statement is a different matter.
computer people: we are very good at math actually also computer people: x = x 1
