ALT The Zymeworks Fellowship Recipient Seminar will take place at 3:00pm on December 17, 2025 in the MSL Lecture Theatre and on Zoom. The event will be hosted by Dr. Martin Hirst. The first speaker, Dane Sands, is a PhD student in the Mayor lab with the Michael Smith Laboratories and Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UBC. His talk is titled "Supercharging Secretion: Transforming K. phaffii into an Antimicrobial Peptide Factory". The second speaker is Xianya Qu, a PhD candidate in the Kronstad lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the Michael Smith Laboratories at UBC. Her talk is titled "Endoplasmic Reticulum Function Contributes to Caspofungin Tolerance in Cryptococcus neoformans".
