Roy: One thing. I want my Republican colleagues to give me one thing. One. That I can go campaign on and say we did. Anybody sitting in the complex, if you want to come down to the floor and come explain to me, one meaningful, significant thing the Republican majority has done

This whole Biden thing’s been a real rollercoaster ride: 🎢 Stock market up. Inflation down. Job growth up. Unemployment down. Wages up. Gas prices down. 401K up. Crime down. GDP up. Prescription drugs costs down. Manufacturing jobs up. College loan debt down. Union strength up. Racism, misogyny, intolerance down. Infrastructure investment up. Impeachments & indictments down. Democracy up. Fascism down. Hostages released. Ceasefire extended. Not sure how much more of this I can take!! Thanks Joe. 🇺🇸

REMINDER: The Democratic party is responsible for creating Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Unemployment benefits, the Affordable Care Act, Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights, and so much more. Republicans are responsible for creating trump, January 6th, and George Santos.

Greedflation
This does not get enough attention 👇 Instead of illogically blaming Joe Biden for inflation when he was simply dealing with worldwide structural economic changes as we emerged from the pandemic, more focus needs to be placed on greedy corporations who wildly exaggerated their cost increases and unfairly gouged consumers with sky-high prices. And the evidence of this? Just look at their record profits. #Greedflation

The CEO of Live Nation — the parent company of TicketMaster — received $139 million in compensation last year. Meanwhile, the median Live Nation employee was paid $25,673. That’s a pay ratio of 5,414-to-1. Monopoly power is terrible for everyone but rich CEOs.

Remember Cal-Maine? The largest egg producer in the U.S who made headlines this year for posting a 718% surge in profits. Well yesterday a jury found that they and another egg producer engaged in an illegal price-fixing scheme for years prior to the pandemic. Interesting, huh?

Walmart reported $453 million in profits last quarter. They’ve spent $1.3 billion on stock buybacks this year. Their CEO received $24.1 million in compensation last year. More than half of Walmart’s employees still earn less than a living wage.

Once again #CongressmanKean shows he cares less about people than making sure he sticks with his party. No $ for gun violence research. #GOPkills
With everything happening in the world, the House Republicans spent time today trying to ban the CDC from even studying how we might prevent gun deaths. Only four Republican members - Fitzpatrick, Lawler, Mace, and Malliotakis - voted against it.

A recent study found that for each extra dollar the IRS spends auditing rich taxpayers who avoid paying what they owe, it can collect $12 in return. Remember this as Republicans in Congress continue their attempts to strip the IRS of its funding.

The GOP loves blaming the deficit on Social Security and Medicare. But the real culprit is giveaways to corporations and the rich. If not for the regressive tax cuts under Bush and Trump, we would have a stable debt-to-GDP ratio. That's one thing the GOP will never tell you.

What is Speaker Johnson doing one week into his tenure? Pushing for a “debt commission” to quietly gut Social Security and Medicare. It takes workers a lifetime to earn these benefits. It takes Johnson one week to put them on the chopping block. Tells you all you need to know.

The next time you hear Republicans complain about increased IRS funding, remember that the richest 1% of Americans evade $163 billion in taxes each year. That’s who the GOP is protecting.
