Walked through this house with a contractor friend at the original sale we thought $100k was too much at the time given the scope of work. It is a great neighbourhood and nice renovation but overpaying for a massive reno project rarely works out in an unpredictable market.
This never sold and is back on the market for $699,000 – a 7% reduction. And they added back that third second storey window. Without it the facade looked pretty bad. realtor.ca/real-estate/28759…

I was on the provincial committee for property tax reform in 2021 and at that time the majority of government depts were against changes for a more fair cost effective tax system for homeowners. Govt and politicians love the extra revenue for pet projects and vote buying.
We’re overhauling New Brunswick’s property tax system. Have your say by completing a short public survey, open until August 10th. Help us create a system that is transparent, competitive, affordable, and fair.

Nothing will be overhauled as both municipalities & to a smaller extent SNB who administers the program now addicted to the extra revenue & will fight tooth & nail to give any of it up. This is performative and nothing more.

Great fishing trip to Fredericton Junction! Trout have not been biting as well this year but we snagged a few decent ones on the trip. Bugs were Terrible!! #ruralNB #fishingtrip

Happy Father's Day! Got started at 5:45 am with 2 pork shoulders on the smoker. Went with hickory/maple wood with some Jealous Devil lump charcoal. Wrapped with butcher paper @ 165F. Rufus Teague Honey Sweet BBQ sauce. One of the best results I have had!

How is Doug Ford that popular when he wins two majorities with a 44.5% overall voter turnout? The mainstream media is desperate to keep this narrative going Ford is a hero after eviscerating him last year for the Greenbelt scandal. Hypocrites! #cdnpoli
This is literally insane. Your party has just blown a 25 point lead and lost an election, but you held the Liberals to a minority and might do better in the election to come if you learn from your mistakes and broaden your appeal so … you start a civil war with the very popular three-time Conservative premier of the country’s largest province. To what end? Besides finding a convenient scapegoat for a defeat that was clearly and wholly the fault of the leader and his team.

This kind of nonsense is why the country will remain polarized as absolutely no ownership or reflection on how the Liberals failed Canada & have not got a mandate for 3 straight elections. Their entire platform was fear based on Trump while ignoring last 10 years! #gaslighting
Hey Conservatives: Time to drop the hate. It didn’t work. It’s why you lost. 🧵 👉NOW WE NEED UNITY👈 I listened to both Mark Carney’s victory speech and Pierre Poilievre’s concession speech. They both spoke of working together to defend Canada’s interests and protect our sovereignty. How about we follow their lead, at least until the next opportunity to duke it out in an election? Some suggestions on how to do this, which coincidentally will help improve your result next time: ✔️Stop calling your fellow citizens libtards, retards, and idiots ✔️Quit it with the tedious repetition about “the lost Liberal decade.” We get it. You were the ONLY people who suffered during the pandemic that you refuse to acknowledge 🙄 ✔️Take the “Fuck Carney” flags off your pickup trucks ✔️Put a pin in the lies about being forced to forage for food, eat bugs, give up homes, “have nothing and be happy. (If any of these things actually come true, we can revisit) ✔️Get over your crushing disappointment about losing plastic straws. You will survive this heartbreak. ✔️Lay off the exaggerations about trans people, who are less than 2% of the population. Children are not being forced to transition, and NO MEN are getting gender reassignment surgery in order to assault women in bathrooms (can you not see what a dumb statement that is?) ✔️You don’t have to be “woke” (Canada’s Charter allows you freedom of expression!), but stop shitting on those of us who are happy to celebrate diversity, promote equity, and be inclusive to others (even you). We also have Charter rights, and we can be woke if we want to be. How about it? Can we all stop being nasty for a while, and try mutual respect? Could be a refreshing change, amiright? #CanadaStrong #CanadaFirst

The Liberals created the carbon tax despite its harm to many Canadians, allowed unchecked immigration, made home ownership & rents unaffordable while doubling the national debt. The track record is BAD & I am not interested in forgetting about it for "unity."

This is not about independent journalism, this is about self interest. Much of the Canadian media desperately needs to maintain the status quo, even if it means misleading or outright lying to Canadian. CBC needs a major restructure if it continues to be funded by taxpayers.

Must watch. Everything that is wrong with CBC controlling the narrative in a single exchange! Kenney "Is that an objective CBC fact check statement?" Rosie "Yes" Kenney "I guess it reads to the CBC differently, but it reads to me like a Trudeau platform." Rosie "You can read that way, but that is not." At CBC, you can have an opinion, but unless it is CBC approved, it's not the correct one Rosie gives her opinion as fact and moves on... to the other Liberal on the panel @RosieBarton @jkenney @brodiefenlon

Since Don Cherry was fired from Hockey Night in Canada, have not watched it since. Don Cherry was a Canadian Icon who unapologetically wore his heart on his sleeve & brought his no BS opinion to viewers. Stories like this cement his legacy regardless of his TV tenure. #Grapes

Replying to @CoachsCornerDC
A quick story about Don Cherry: I worked at breakfast television from 2013-15. Don came in after Roger's bought the NHL rights. Global superstars had walked into this building, and I'd never seen our staff as excited. As soon as he stepped into the building, every single person had their eyes on him. He did his segment with Ron, and it ended at 7:45 a.m. And then the most surprising thing happened. He didn't do what every other famous person does: have their people pull them away. Rush out, jump into their car, and whisk away. He took a picture with the on-air crew, and then turned and said, "Hey, anyone else want to grab a shot?" Our camera guy rushed over. And then one after one, everyone waited their turn to get their moment. But Don stayed in the studio, no word of a lie; he must have been there for an hour and a half. He shook everyone's hand, he took every photo that was asked for, he looked in everyone's eyes and had conversations no matter how long, and this wasn't just tv people. It was everyone from our executives to the security guards and even the janitor. It didn't matter who you were, the colour of your skin. He was polite, gracious, and genuinely engaging. He stayed until everyone had gotten their moment. It was one of the most impressive acts I'd ever seen, and he didn't have to do it. Again, we had global superstars in the building that wouldn't look at you, let alone talk to you! And Don stood in the corner and made space for anyone that wanted to. Not for his ego, but because he uniquely loved Canadians that had invested in him. Hockey has never been the same. God bless you, Don.

This is the biggest threat to Canada. A significant % of the population who ignores data & our failures for partisan purposes. Our biggest threat is not Trump, it was our own failure on energy independence, a strong economy, reducing, trade barriers & improving productivity.
There's been lots of talk lately about the "lost decade" under the Liberal government. It revolves around this chart: Let's dig into it with a quick thread. 🧵

Pierre Poilevre rallies are attracting thousands of Canadians coast to coast. Canadian Future party leader @DominicCardy in his hometown? 6 people. The person who spent years attacking NB/CPC Conservatives can barely fill a booth at Tim Hortons. Karma. #cdnpoli
This is 90 minutes before the start. The crowd was pumped. No cell or wifi in the building. I have footage on my GoPro but I need to edit before I can publish it.

Good to see NB is back to sunny ways 🌞 & smiling selfies while the first Holt budget a disaster & province closing in again on $20 billion dollars debt. Memo to gov't most of net migration we gained from other provinces already gone. I wonder why? 🤷

Enjoyed a productive conversation with internal trade minister @cafreeland in Ottawa yesterday. We discussed New Brunswick’s bullish approach on credential recognition that will allow workers from anywhere in Canada to come here and work in their field. We also agreed to continue to work together on removing internal trade barriers as rapidly as possible, including through an Atlantic free trade zone.

In the latest budget that federal transfer payments make up 32% while we refuse to explore any of our natural resources. With Holt refusing to defend FN title claim we will never see any resource development. AB/SK have right to be furious. @Martyupnorth_2 @dewayna44 #cdnpoli

How do we develop any natural resources after the Liberals just gave away 50% of the province after the FN had a weak case and no substantive legal precedent? This could be possibly be the most negligent decision in NB history nobody is talking about.

More context from an NB retired judge and legal words. His own words regarding Holt's decision. "NB is riding a train wreck still in motion, politically and legally."

I said months ago this government would run a $2-3 billion deficit in 4 years as they are beholden to special interest groups & have no plans for any accountability on spending. NB will soon be on pace for $20 billion net debt considering taxpayers stuck with NB Power debt.

Budget 2025-26 is focused on improving access to healthcare for New Brunswickers, a promise we made to you when you voted for change. When it came down to choosing between a balanced budget and choosing New Brunswickers and their needs, we will choose New Brunswickers every time. We cannot keep kicking the can down the road, this budget invests in transformational and lasting change. A couple highlights: $30M to establish community care clinics across the province $19M to support the ongoing transformation of our Clinical Information System $162 million to support NBers and businesses in the face of tariffs $32.4M to stabilize our classrooms and support educators 18.6% increase in funding to the NB Housing Corporation so that more New Brunswickers can have a safe and affordable place to call home
