I cannot believe what I’m witnessing in Kyiv tonight. Priests at the Kyiv Lavra one of the holiest Christian sites in Europe are rushing to save crucifixes, icons and sacred artefacts while Russia attacks the city. This is what Moscow’s “Christian values” look like.

Russian atrocities in Mali go unchecked. The Africa Report “infiltrated” the Wagner-linked Telegram channel, finding 322 videos and 647 photographs of atrocities, including severed heads and gouged-out eyes, and posts “laced with racism.” bbc.com/news/articles/crmx7x…

This is the aftermath of a deliberate Russian strike on one of the oldest cathedrals in Europe. The murals and paintings of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra were inspired by Byzantine tradition. Masters traveled to Constantinople to study and recreate its frescoes and beautiful art in Kyiv. There is no Byzantine Empire anymore, but Ukrainian Christianity still stands. Twice in history, Russians tried to destroy it — in 1941 and now in 2026. The first time, it was mined and blown up by retreating Soviet NKVD forces after German troops occupied the city. The second time, it was targeted by a Russian-Iranian Shahed drone. PHOTOS: Office of the President of Ukraine.

The Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and academy were damaged, and one of the production workshops at the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio was destroyed. While rescuers were working to extinguish the flames at the main cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Russians launched a follow-up strike nearby, hitting the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Culture, Arts and Museum Complex. A kindergarten, a business center, administrative buildings, private houses, a market, cars, and unfinished high-rise buildings were also damaged. An innovative postal terminal was destroyed. ▪️ Kharkiv region: Five people were killed. 24 people were injured, including two children. Russian forces are systematically targeting civilian transport on frontline and border-area roads across Ukraine. Private cars, passenger buses, trucks, and even two-wheeled vehicles have come under attack. Due to the persistent threat, local authorities in some areas are urging residents to limit travel, while anti-drone nets are being installed along the most dangerous stretches of road. In recent weeks alone, such attacks have been reported in at least four regions: Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk. Near Kharkiv, an FPV drone wounded a 49-year-old woman travelling in a car with her husband on 8 June. In the Nikopol district, a drone struck a private vehicle on a highway, killing one woman and injuring three others. Among the victims of other attacks was a man riding a scooter to buy groceries. #WarCrimes

This is huge. @kajakallas says **China has been training Russian soldiers for war in Ukraine.*** The axis in action. Beijing must be wondering what they have to do for us to see them for the obvious adversary that they are.

For all those asking why Russia would bomb sacred Orthodox sites in Kyiv, let me remind you that the Soviet secret police, the NKVD, and the Red Army deliberately blew up central Kyiv in 1941, including parts of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, one of the holiest sites in Eastern Orthodoxy and a product of the Byzantine tradition that brought Christianity and literacy to the Slavs. Russia is once again erecting monuments to and praising the butcher Stalin and his bloody cohort. Also keep in mind that the Russian Bolsheviks destroyed more Orthodox churches and monasteries than any other invading force in the history of the Slavic world, including the Ottomans.

Watch this video: this is the heart of Europe. The Kyiv Metro. The capital of Europe’s largest country. For the fifth year in a row, these people have been going underground just to be sure they’ll wake up tomorrow. There’s no point in discussing the despicable nature of those who are firing rockets and drones at us Ukrainians-there’s no room for debate here; it’s all too obvious. You know, this video is addressed to the other side-to those watching these events unfold from the safe, air-conditioned offices of Brussels, Paris, and Berlin. Leaders of European countries and the European Union. I want to ask you: how is your latest "deep concern" progressing? How comfortable is it to pontificate about geopolitical balances and escalation, knowing that right now, thousands of children are falling asleep on the cold granite floors of a subway station? For decades, you built your identity on beautiful slogans. You lectured us on human rights, on humanism, on the value of human life; you created an entire industry of political morality. Yet, when the time came to defend that morality, it turned out that behind your podiums hides nothing but plain, absolute cowardice. You are afraid to close the sky over Ukraine!!! You are afraid to make decisions; you are afraid of losing your personal bureaucratic comfort. This is not politics and this is not strategy-this is refined hypocrisy. History is a very cold science; it is indifferent to your diplomatic phrasing and your politically correct smiles at summits. But remember: by trying to buy your own security at the cost of other people's lives, you will eventually end up with neither security nor honor.

The EU is considering sanctions against Patriarch Kirill again. It’s about time. Kirills church is de facto department of FSB. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he has openly justified the war, blessed Russian troops, and supported the ideology of the so-called “Russian World” used to deny Ukraine’s right to exist as a separate nation. The Russian Orthodox Church even endorsed a document describing the invasion as a “Holy War.” As the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra comes under Russian attack, it is worth remembering that Ukrainian authorities uncovered pro-Russian networks operating from the Lavra during the full-scale invasion. Clergy who were FSB operatives were arrested. After Hungary’s veto is finally gone, the EU should act.
