Why are there no good photos of Neil Armstrong on the Moon?

Can you imagine walking on the moon and not getting a photo of yourself? All the moonwalk photos from Apollo 11 are of Buzz Aldrin, there are no photos of Neil Armstrong on the moon. Having only one camera, Neil took photos of Buzz. A great act of humility by Neil. Astronaut Alan Bean painted what Neil would have looked like on the moon, shown here. Alan used the reflection of Neil taking the photo from Buzz's helmet as a model. A great act of friendship by Alan.

That's incredible. Thanks for sharing!
#Apollo11 crew had to sign US customs' forms after returning from the moon on July 24, 1969, declaring that they brought moon dust & rock samples back. The declaration form was signed by crew members: Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin & Michael Collins. contactlight.de

On July 18th, #Apollo11 Mission Day Number 3 was a big day! Neil and I entered the Lunar Module Eagle as part of our lunar landing preparation on July 20th, and Columbia transitioned out of Earth’s gravitational field as we ventured into the Moon’s orbit. And, NASA allowed us one extra hour of sleep! We needed it, particularly given the upcoming demands of the mission.

Our Moon is our closest celestial body and affects our tides, our time and nature’s rhythm. It has always held an enormous fascination for humans, both scientifically and spiritually. Today #internationalmoonday marks the anniversary of the first humans setting foot on its surface. We still have much to learn from our Moon. Exciting to think that, within a few years, we shall return. 1st photo taken by me as the moon rises through the Earth’s atmosphere. 2nd photo taken of Earth from the lunar surface during Apollo 11 mission. On Friday, July 19, the eve of the 55th anniversary of the #Apollo11 Moon landing, our “Building 12” was officially named the “Dorothy Vaughan Center in Honor of the Women of Apollo.” Vaughan’s commitment during the Apollo missions helped advance the agency’s current diverse workforce and leadership. She was a steadfast advocate for the women who worked as human computers, and for all the individuals under her direction.
