Things that matter to your job: 1. Attendance 2. Output Things that don't matter to your job: 1. Your opinion 2. Physical injuries 3. Pain of any type 4. Your mental health 5. Problems with management 6. Working without time off 7. Your ability to afford existing 8. Your death
Jobs do not care if you are on the verge of breaking down mentally. They don’t care when you break down mentally, and they treat you weird after you break down mentally. And they will replace you immediately.

🔥☢️Hot Take☢️🔥 Blizzard Entertainment should have died years ago. The only reasons they've survived are (1) nostalgia keeping ppl anchored ⚓️ to the games they played & (2) the acquisition by Microsoft. I'm not apologizing for the opinion, either.
Sandy Petersen, the designer of Doom, Quake, Call of Cthulhu, and Age of Empires, responding on social media to fans asking how to save Blizzard: "We don't need to save Blizzard. We didn't need to save Microsoft or id Software or Ensemble Studios or Atari. We don't need to save ANY game company. If they die, they die. They will be replaced with new, likely superior game companies. Gaming continues." The man who helped build the foundations of modern gaming says let the industry's legacy studios die. Is he right?

PFFT! I didn't even ask for a raise, & I experienced this at my 1st factory job. The differences? They hired THREE ppl to replace me. My sins were confronting ppl directly about unsafe conditions & not kissing ass. 2 weeks short of 5 years & I got a choice of layoff or firing.

Those are rookie numbers. You really want to pump them up? Let someone mouth off at you and rightfully defend yourself from whatever false accusation or sarcasm they throw at you. THEN you'll be cooking with gas. 😉😏
Wow! I never knew that simply being the quiet co-worker who just comes to work, minds their business, and avoids gossip could bother people so much…

I once took ~2 minutes to sit in a chair on the production floor. Sore, tired & my eyes were watering. My shift superintendent, at the time, approached me to ask what I was doing. I told him, & his response was, "If they see you sitting down, everyone will want a sit-down job."
It’s really disturbing that “NO SITTING, SITTING LOOKS BAD TO THE CUSTOMER” in retail and hospitality jobs is just accepted. I'm a human not a robot fgs, my body aches because it's not supposed to stand up for 9 hours a day lmao

This from a man who spent literally 75 to 90% of every shift SITTING ON HIS ASS IN AN OFFICE.. WHILE I SPEND ALL BUT 40 MINUTES OF EVERY 12 HOUR SHIFT IN MY FEET.. The things I will tell this man if I EVER encounter him again in this lifetime.

This is the, "You've passed your probation period & are now considered 'full-time'" cake.

The current average lifespan in the USA is, IIRC, 76 years. At 38, you're ½ way to the afterlife, or a comfortable coffin - whichever you believe in. If you wait til 50 to start thinking ahead.. You've led a carefree life or just never taken the time to stop & think about it.
DO PEOPLE START THINKING ABOUT HOW MANY YEARS THEY HAVE LEFT WHEN THEY GET IN THEIR 50s AND 60s ??

You're a walking buffet, not a blind date. Your personality is irrelevant; but you need to be cooked at a "well done" level to hold my attention.

what about my personality? :(

9-5? *spews drink* I worked a previous factory job for almost 5 years, scheduled from 6:15pm to 6:15am. That was a "continental" schedule, tho. My current factory job usually sees me working 11:10am to 11:10pm (or saw me work 11:20am to 11:20pm). I work 5, 6 or 7 days a week.
How do people work 9-5s for 20 years and not go insane?

Nobody in HR or any office position gives a rat's ass about you. The second you complain about a toxic manager (or anything else about the job), you paint a bullseye 🎯 on your back. Any reasonable or manufactured excuse will be used to fire🔥 you. 💩 ALWAYS rolls downhill.
Jun 14
Never go to HR to complain about a toxic manager. HR is not a workplace therapist; they are the company’s defense attorneys.
