That is what any reasonable person wants. Legal migration, background checks, qualifications, quality of person etc. It is the very least we deserve. I don’t care what colour anyone is after that.

How odd - it's been several days since the head of the Hope and Courage Collective made a verifiably false claim on live TV, saying "We're not [funded by the State] actually", when they are, yet there's been no sign of The Journal's fact check yet. Any day now I'm sure. 🤪
The Hope and Courage collective NGO received €68k from the Dept. of Equality in just one year (link: shorturl.at/gu0sC). In 2024 they also received €14k from IHREC, a taxpayer-funded State agency (link: shorturl.at/WDY0G). None of their income came from donations.

If I could only give one piece of advice it’s this. Whenever in life you hear the words “it was only a joke” trust me, it was never, ever only a joke.

Calling a 44 year old vulnerable victim a "young man" isn't just out-of-touch political rhetoric, it’s a deliberate sanitisation of the barbaric attack. By reducing Stephen Ogilvie to a vague cliché, the Taoiseach misleads the public and masks the grim reality. Stop shielding the facts. It’s a pathetic day for Irish politics when the state is more worried about managing the narrative than facing the horrific reality on our streets.
The events in Northern Ireland have filled us with horror. I unreservedly condemn the absolutely savage attack on that young person, and the appalling violence that followed. We must stand united in defending the fundamental dignity of every person and the rule of law.

The fundamental roles of any government are:- Protecting Citizens. Maintaining Order. Enforcing laws, policing, administering justice. Providing National defence & security/borders. Providing infrastructure, roads, schools. Managing the Economy. Provide Public Services, healthcare, education, welfare. #Ireland and the #Irish government are failing each role miserably.

Free speech is being strangled by government control. Coimisiún na Meán’s "online safety" agenda is purely a bureaucratic cartel designed to crush the right to speak. By weaponising vague definitions of "harm" and rigging audience panels, (just like previous broken, ideologically captured Citizens Assemblies) they have empowered unelected, state-funded NGOs to delete political dissent.
Media regulator, Coimisiún na Meán, is set to be given the power to select Audience Councils for both RTÉ and TG4 – a move described as part of the “continuing suffocation” of the concept of a free press by one TD. gript.ie/coimisiun-na-mean-t…

Bill Clinton spent years learning and knew every player & historical grievance & still found it grueling. Thomas Byrne is unqualified without a clue and is walking into the world's most volatile conflict looking like the gormless amateur he is. A mission without a clue.
Wonderful to meet so many from civil society from both Israel and Palestine at the Paris Call for the Two-State Solution, organised by @jnbarrot. The Israelis and Palestinians we met were inspiring. Amidst the destruction, there is still hope and humanity.

I would willing have my taxes diverted to transport this entire government to another GALAXY €185 million to be spent on a LOGO!! How about 'drawing' a few houses and putting roofs over Irish children's heads with that €185 million ...you do not have a mandate for utter BS.
The @Ireland2026EU logo is inspired by the spiral structure of galaxies, with each arm featuring 27 discs, symbolising the 27 EU Member States. The slogan, “Ní neart go cur le chéile”, comes from an Irish seanfhocal or proverb and reflects that we have “Strength with unity”.

May I ask...is stabbing people racist ? Or only talking about it...
"We say very clearly no to racism in our society." First Minister of Northern Ireland Michelle O'Neill condemns the violent disorder that has taken place in Belfast in recent days, describing it as "pure racism in its vilest form". Belfast live updates: trib.al/kI70nUY

I spoke at the Child Safeguarding Coalition event in Leinster House on Wednesday evening. It was an honour to take part and to share the platform with Stella (@genspect), Laoise (@TheCountessIE) and Jana (@NaturalWomensIE). The three of you lead fantastic advocacy organisations and have been incredibly generous in sharing your platforms, knowledge and support with me since I became somewhat distracted by #BíCineálta! Among other things, we have called for an end to Bí Cineálta / Cineáltas. I’ll post more about this and the other objectives separately — for now, I just wanted to acknowledge the experience and say thank you to @SenatorKeogan for hosting us. Thank you @griptmedia and @Ben_Scallan for covering. @critical_class @education_irish
The Child Safeguarding Coalition Ireland has raised concerns about inappropriate children's books to TDs and Senators at an Oireachtas event in Dublin, calling for an "audit" of all educational materials recommended for minors by the State: gript.ie/child-safeguarding-…

Questions need to be answered here. @GovIE
The Department of Home Affairs has confirmed that the Nigerian family deported from Ireland earlier this year was taken into custody upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport. Responding to questions raised by ATM, the department stated that the family was transferred to Lindela Repatriation Centre before being deported to Nigeria. Authorities allege that the family had entered Ireland using fraudulently obtained South African passports.

The National Parents Council are heavily involved in setting the curriculum but from what we’ve been told by parents, they are ideologically captured and no help at all.

Well said Ray, I completely agree with you.
Replying to @EUCouncil
@EUCouncil doubling down on an already catastrophic set of failures is not smart-- neither is EU reneging on its origins and identity Look around at the consequences. @IrexitFreedom @EoinLenihan @battleforeurope @Michael08483429 @IrelandMeda
