#OTD in 1974 #Dubliner #CorneliusRyan died in #NewYork. The #journalist and #author penned the acclaimed #WWII trilogy #TheLongestDay #TheLastBattle and #ABridgeTooFar. He was awarded the #LegioofHomour by #France and the word 'Reporter' is on his gravestone.
