I’ve just been checked over by an ambulance after a group of foreign lads came up behind me while I was doing a debate stand, dragged me to the ground, and kicked and punched me. I passed out halfway through and don’t remember everything that happened. From what I can recall, it started while I was sitting down, and they took some of my equipment during the assault. The police arrived about five minutes after the assault, recovering as much as they could. One of my cameras exploded when they tried to seize it, or steal it. Instead of running away with it, they destroyed it, causing the battery to explode. However, I have the SD card, and we'll be checking whether the footage is still there so they can identify what actually happened. Members from Stand Up to Racism were counter-protesting, and they were egging them on and filming it. The police did nothing to stop the counter-protesters or retrieve the footage to see what actually happened. I’ll be going to the hospital now, as I have a cut and a number of marks on my neck, bruises on my face and the top of my head, and cuts running down my back.

When it withdrew unilaterally in 2005, there were no Jews left in Gaza. Terrorists still launched attacks. Palestinian terrorism from Gaza did not begin with Israel’s control, and it did not end with Israel’s withdrawal. Violence has never been a result of occupation; it has always been about ending the only Jewish nation.

Delarosa investigated further and uncovered the entrance to a 2,000-year-old underground burial cave. ✡️Inside were two burial chambers and an extraordinary stone sarcophagus decorated with carved flowers. It is considered one of the most magnificent sarcophagi ever discovered in Jerusalem. ✡️An inscription found in the tomb reads: “I am Abba, son of the priest Eleazar, son of Aaron the High Priest. I am Abba, the afflicted and persecuted one, who was born in Jerusalem and went into exile to Babylon. I brought up Mattathias, son of Judah, and buried him in the cave that I purchased by deed.” ✡️The sarcophagus contained the remains of two individuals. Scholars have debated their identities, but the most widely accepted theory is that the Mattathias mentioned in the inscription was Antigonus II Mattathias, the last Hasmonean king of Judea. ✡️Antigonus was defeated by Herod the Great and the Romans. He was taken to Antioch, where he was executed in 37 BC, bringing the Hasmonean dynasty to an end.
