Saturday afternoon sun outside @ScotRail Stirling station.

Over 2 days we’ve travelled with @LNER and @TPExpressTrains on a return weekend journey and everything was just spot on. Trains on time, all spotless, exemplary customer service, both on board and at stations, revenue protection, working air con and WiFi. Only way to travel! 👏🏻

First stop Bromley South anyone? Before a slow trip from London Victoria towards the SE and Dover. Flash back to 1986. 5 years later a got the keys to Ramsgate Depot and had the honour of looking after the entire fleet.

I dread tomorrow on the West Coast Main Lottery route. Just how many times this week, let alone last week have they just simply ‘shut up shop’ due to some very unfortunate incidents, train failures & infrastructure failings. Surely, contingency plans ensure operational workings keep the railway running. I also detect that certain companies are not making their operations people not trained & passed competent working with degraded modes. This is not ‘Progress’ & gives travelling passengers who vote with their ticket purchases any confidence with the railway. We need a directing leadership mind now to recover & quickly. I also feel so much for our front line friends who have to defend this daily!
