Mental health support for journalists must remain a priority. 17 years later, @WilliamsKato3 still vividly recalls the traumatic scenes he witnessed while covering stories as a reporter at WBS TV. Newsrooms must recognize the lasting impact of such experiences and provide the support journalists need to cope and heal.

Thank you to everyone who joined last night’s #TheInsightsLive X Spaces on “Ebola Reporting: How to Stay Safe & Truthful.Grateful for the insightful discussion and the shared commitment to ensuring that facts, not fear, guide our response to Ebola.
@UgandaRedCross@DrBrianBilalK
As a front liner in Bundibugyo as we speak, @JCWamala emphasizes that Ebola is NOT airborne. It is spread through touch, saliva exchange(kissing) and sexual intercourse. Journalists should be able to communicate this information accurately and truthfully.

We (Journalists) are vital partners in this Ebola situation. The media should report on Ebola in a truthful and factual way. In doing this, the media will give public trust if they give the right information in the fight against the Ebola epidemic.-@JCWamalax.com/i/spaces/1jGXggDXdDNKZ
Uganda Red Cross is strengthening readiness by training more Safe and Dignified Burial (SDB) teams to support response to the Bundibugyo Ebola virus disease outbreak.
SDB teams are building skills to safely manage human remains, prevent infection, ensure traceability, and uphold dignity through respectful, community‑centred approaches.
With support from @IFRC, @UgandaRedCross teams are on the ground delivering life‑saving assistance.
The IFRC's Emergency Appeal of CHF 29 million is supporting scale‑up of community engagement, surveillance, SDB, infection prevention, and cross‑border readiness: ifrc.org/emergency/africa-eb…

In the first five months of 2026, 18 volunteers and staff from National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have already lost their lives.
One life lost is far too many. We must #ProtectHumanity.
