Dr. Barclay Shepard awarded the VA Centenarian Recognition He was awarded on June 6 by Tracye B. Davis, Medical Center Director – VA Maine Healthcare System, Michael Brawn – Acting Director of the Veterans Benefits Administration, Togus Regional Office, and VA Maine’s Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) Chief, Sarah Goodman. The certificate was presented to Dr. Shepard just ten days before his 100th birthday and while he was surrounded by his family. The program was initiated in 2020 by former Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Wilkie to recognize Veterans reaching the milestone of 100 years old with a signed letter from the Secretary and a coin.
