It seems the giant #pubcos & their lobbyists the BBPA are rattled after the very unconvincing display from #pubco bosses at the @CommonsBEIS evidence session last week! Putting on a lavish event (with free beer for MPs!) with a few handpicked tenants! Not the many unhappy ones!

Utterly extraordinary statement from Fiona Dickie @pubscodepca telling @CommonsBEIS people should send her evidence. She dropped the #PCA’s OWN evidence collated by Tom Astley & has failed to act over numerous issues raised by tenants & tenants’s groups. #pubs

Re previous comment by Cllr about large nos of pubs - note that Temperance Movement in 1886 used this to map pubs as "Plague" dots. Today, only a couple of pubs left Aldgate->Whitechapel->Mile End. So where Temperance failed, modern developers annihilated an historic thoroughfare

In general reports are that pub-goers behaved responsibly yesterday and were excited and appreciative.
Some amusing anecdotes: the guy who brought his own beer to a pub in Cambridge, and some who asked to go inside as it was cold.
