Sounds familiar.
Turns out "abandoned in plain sight, saved by the community" is a whole genre now.

MoonCats sat unnoticed on-chain for 5 years before anyone rescued them in 2021. No devs. No marketing. Just 25,600 pixel cats, patiently existing on Ethereum since 2017.
Early projects matter because they weren't built for flipping. They were experiments. That's rare.
