Families thrive when they are supported, not surveilled. Yesterday, families, domestic violence survivors, children’s rights leaders, reproductive justice advocates, public defenders, & mandated reporters called for an end to mandatory reporting at a rally & NYS Assembly hearing.

This legislation has passed both houses (Senate and Assembly) 3 times. The Governor’s refusal to sign it into law is a clear indication that families impacted by forced separation’s in NYS, don’t matter to her and black children having a connection to their roots is meaningless.

If you understand and care about children having the right to know their family, medical history etc. call your local Assembly-person and Senator and tell them to override the Governors veto-call today and ask your friends and family members to call too.

Parents are completely tired of being frisked by the family police (ACS)-having their homes invaded, children stripped searched etc. @NYCCouncil - must act to protect our rights NOW!!

When a parents rights are terminated a child rights to their entire family, the families roots, medical history etc is also terminated and there can be no contact.This very harmful to the child. amsterdamnews.com/news/2023/…
