Had a blast sharing our Surviving Survivor course at #STLHESAPES2023 workshop today. The engagement was fantastic & I came away with new ideas for our next course offering- thanks all! @MacBHSc@hartleyjafine
What a privilege & pleasure it is to work & learn alongside insightful, reflective students. Partnering with learners is incredible opportunity for knowledge exchange, bringing new perspectives & skills to projects! Thank you @KatHowcroft!
This afternoon I co-presented at #STLHESAPES2023 a course evaluation project with a mentor of mine, Jenn Nash. This prompted a reflection on the privilege and power of mentorship and the profoundly positive impact Jenn has had on my teaching philosophy and approach to education.

The candy bowl in my office is officially filled! I’ve started with the basics and kept items with nuts separate - any special requests?
Stop by my office to say hello and grab a treat!

Throwback to that time I thought this was a pineapple and represented hospitality (therefore used it for our class Team). On the last day of class my students told me it wasn’t a pineapple, it was a plant. Plants grow and so can people so I guess it still worked.
@MacBHSc
I think we are measuring the wrong metrics for wellness.
Rather than focusing so much on office culture & indoor spaces, we should have outdoor metrics:
- Weekly wildlife bingo 🦆 🐿
- Minimum % walking meetings 🏃♀️
- Outdoor lunch ratio ☀️
- Distance traversed for ☕️
Etc.

@JNashDC & I share our thoughts on #Survivor42 winner @McMasterU grad Maryanne and what her win means for our @MacBHSc course on #Survivor

When creating the outline for our @survivorcbs course, @JNashDC and I intentionally opened with “Come on in folks!”. It is awesome to see a show I love so much evolving - this is critical analysis and reflexivity at work. Thanks @RicardFoye for initiating the conversation.
Sun shining, music playing, students arriving. Walked by my old res window (Matthews 2000)- a light was on. I wonder who is in there? Met a few @MacBHSc students exploring campus. Feeling butterflies of excitement & nervousness for staff, students, faculty @McMasterU.
Our kids had a blast during their first time @RBGCanada camp earlier this summer. One of them was inspired to create a book of “nature facts” to document what they learned!
