**Card Number Four: The Samadhi on the “I” Thought**
This card, though not the most beautiful from an aesthetic point of view, is one of the densest in meaning.
When meditating with a concentration method, one can choose countless objects of focus: a chakra, a light, an image of a saint, or anything else.
According to Ramana Maharshi and many other true masters, the **direct path** to realizing one’s true nature is meditation on the inner feeling of the “I” — or on the “I” thought itself.
All other methods, even the famous Tibetan tummo or yogic kundalini, are indirect paths and, in a certain sense, inferior.
True Samadhi arises only when the meditator merges completely with the “I” thought.
Any Samadhi that takes as its object something other than the “I” thought does not lead to the realization of the divinity inherent in man.
The reason is simple: the nature of existence is pure, neutral awareness. Attention itself is God.
When one observes the “I” with the full power of one’s attention, the awareness that observes transforms the “I” into itself — into pure awareness.
This act of observation must be done with body and mind: feel the whole body from within as a single field of energy, while focusing all of your attention on the source of the “I” thought.
