Question for @between2worlds: how different are Crossway’s and Baker’s book on Justification by Faith Alone from Sproul? Is Crossway’s almost an abridged version of Baker’s? Are both worth owning? Thanks!
Please wait for marriage before you have sex.
If you’ve already had sex outside of marriage, repent and wait for marriage. Don’t make the consequences worse.
Your marriage will be better for it.
Your creator knows what’s best for you.
What’s the “secret” to reaching students?
There is no “secret”. But there is a constant strategy. The strategy is to do what has worked for 2,000 years.
•Be Spirit-led. (The Holy Spirit in you knows how to reach students. Let Him lead.)
•Share the Gospel. (The same Gospel what has saved students for 2000 years, still saves students today.)
•Stick to the Bible. (The Bible is always relevant. It’s not a history book, it’s a Living Book that is always the answer.)
Psalm 12 offers a timely warning for us today. Be careful with your tongue, with your speech. The Lords words are pure and refined. May we reflect him.
“The wicked prowl on every side when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.” Psalm 12:8
Thinking about Advent Peace:
Jesus comes to us in the present and offers overwhelming peace which disarms the sins of our past and gives us a future which culminates in hope realized in the eternal presence of the Father, Son, and Spirit.
Grateful for the past 2 days with @OKBaptists. However, I'm grieved that a subset of pastors would vocally push their own amended resolution and then immediately leave, abandoning corporate worship through song and the faithful preaching of God's word. That's discord, not unity!
This is why @stevenfurtick is dangerous. This is motivational speaking NOT biblical preaching. It is not just "off" it is wrong and false!
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Cor 5:17
GIVEAWAY
We have spent decades fortifying doctrines like inerrancy or justification, meanwhile we are experiencing Trinity drift. No longer can we afford to compromise this foundational doctrine.

Again, a great thread here from @R_Denhollander addressing the insurance objection to the #sbcec waiving privilege. Anyone following this issue needs to read this.
This is accurate. We've raised this reality publicly and privately.
Here's the truth: there are a LOT of ways you can forfeit the right to insurance coverage, some of which may already apply and have arguably voided coverage *anyway*.
*thread*
This is a perspective and understanding that many of our #SBCEC leaders need, not just the one on the zoom call @R_Denhollander quotes. Thank you for your perspective Rachel!
Dear EC member who answered the asked question "how much is a little girl worth?" By saying "worth having insurance proceeds to pay her", please hear my heart -
If you are going to speak those words, first ask those little girls and boys what they care about the most:
Here's what the @SBCExecComm debate comes down to:
@SBCExecComm: if we waive privilege the #sbc might face legal and financial ruin.
SBC Messengers: if the @SBCExecComm doesn't waive privilege the #sbc will face spiritual, reputational, and financial ruin.
#sbcexeccomm
Make no mistake, there will be consequences either way. I would rather we go down doing what's right (while praying the Lord carries us through) than to go down because we wouldn't (NOT couldn't) do what's right (and demanded by the messengers).
SBC pastor here, I watched all the Sept open sessions. @SBCExecComm, if the Bible is our sole authority in all matters of faith and practice then your "fiduciary responsibility" must be overturned by your biblical responsibility! "Do justice, love kindness..." Micah 6:8
Here's the other hard truth, @SBCExecComm. I love the SBC. We have done much good in the spread of the gospel and training church leaders. However, the Lord does not need us to continue. He will save His people and provide leadership for His Church even if the SBC dissolves.
So, your task right now @SBCExecComm is to do what the messengers required. Wave privilege. Let the pieces fall as they may. You do what's just and kind. God can maintain and protect our entities if necessary. Let's trust him to do so!
