It’s obvious that the revoking of the legal status of 530,000 Immigrants is all about racism and not whether they came here the right way.

Buttigieg: We didn't know it, but we've all been trusting our lives to the restraint of whoever the president might be. And now we have a president who is completely unrestrained. And so the only answer to that is a functioning Congress. It turns out we do not have a functioning Congress. The House of Representatives is not representative. One of the most important organs of our democracy is not democratic. They say, "Oh, no. We're not manipulating the map to disempower black people. We're manipulating the map to disempower Democrats who happen to be black people.” So, the time has come to make it impossible to manipulate the map for any reason and just have fair maps.

A good time to remind you that Black people are 7.5 x more likely to be wrongfully convicted of murder than whites, and that this risk is higher when the victim is white.

The system is working exactly as it was intended unfortunately.
FL police use A.I. to identify a vehicle theft suspect from surveillance video. Based on an "85% match" they arrest and charge Jalil Richardson. He spends 3 months in jail. He loses his job, his home, and custody of his kids. Richardson lives in N.C. He's never been to Florida. And his timesheet shows him at work at the time of the crime. No one checked before charging him. yahoo.com/news/us/articles/a…

Follow the money on this one. It is rotten to the core. The Pentagon just lent $620,000,000 to a tiny North Carolina startup called Vulcan Elements. The company is two years old. It had fewer than 50 employees. And three months before the deal was announced, Donald Trump Jr.’s venture firm quietly took a stake in it. Here is the part the administration tried to bury. Of the dozens of companies the Pentagon was weighing, Vulcan was the only deal initiated by a top White House aide. That aide was Peter Navarro, a close friend of Trump Jr. The order came down to move fast. One official put it plainly: The call came from the White House. We have to get this done. Staff worked late nights to push it through in weeks. Deals like this normally take many months of vetting. And when it closed, Vulcan’s valuation jumped from about 200 million dollars to roughly 2 billion. A windfall for the investors, including the president’s son. This is public money. Your money. Routed through the Pentagon to enrich the president’s family and their friends. The Bush administration’s own chief ethics lawyer called it corruption we pay for. And there is more coming. A drone parts company Trump Jr. holds a stake in is also under Pentagon review. This is not a one-off. It is a pattern. The president’s family is treating the federal Treasury like a private bank, and the bill lands on every taxpayer. propublica.org/article/donal…

The most disturbing part about this video is if she did have a right hand, the ticket would stand, her insurance rates would go up, if she had a cdl, her company might fire her. We give entirely too much weight to the testimony of cops who refuse to believe they were ever wrong
Kathleen Thomas was issued a citation in February after a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy pulled her over for allegedly using a phone with her right hand. But Thomas doesn't have a right hand. This week, the officer requested that the citation be dismissed. Here's bodycam footage of the traffic stop.

Today, we commemorate the Tulsa Race Massacre and the destruction of the Greenwood District, or Black Wall Street. This is personal to me: my ancestors left Oklahoma for Denver after the attacks. Remembering our history matters, and so does building a better future from it.

A PARENT’S JOURNEY THROUGH YOUTH SPORTS: Age 5: “He’s got a cannon.” Age 6: “He’s the fastest kid out there. Coach said so.” Age 7: “Rec ball isn’t challenging him anymore.” Age 8: “We tried out for select. Obviously made it.” Age 9: “$2,800 for the season. Plus uniforms. Plus tournaments. Plus hotels.” Age 10: “Cooperstown is basically a family vacation, right?” Age 11: “He needs a hitting guy. And a pitching guy. And probably a mental performance coach.” Age 12: “I’m not a crazy sports parent. The OTHER parents are crazy.” Age 13: “We changed schools. For academics. (And also baseball.)” Age 14: “Showcases are a requirement at this age.” Age 15: “Ya his ranking just ticked up. We’re cooking.” Age 16: “He just needs to get seen by the right school.” Age 17: “The D1 schools want him to walk on. He’ll earn a spot by sophomore year.” Age 18: “Okay, D2 is actually really competitive.” Age 19: “He’s redshirting. Strategic.” Age 20: “He’s focusing on school now.” Age 21: “You know what? He’s so much happier.” Roughly 7% of high schoolers play in college. About 1.5% of those get drafted. Less than half of draftees ever play one day in the big leagues. The odds of our kids going pro are somewhere between “struck by lightning” and “find a $100 in old shorts.” I love youth sports (all my kids play a bunch of them) just keep a good perspective my friends. ✌️

They always have a history. That’s why it’s so dangerous to allow it to happen with just a slap on the wrist so often. This one hits harder as it’s my high school.
New cellphone video documents the same Fairfield police officer involved in a violent arrest of a teenager at Fairfield High School last Wednesday, ripping a former arrestee by her hair out of her vehicle in a traffic stop for speeding a year ago. Read the full story here: abc7.la/9aTTrt

BREAKING: Bernie Sanders brutally mocks billionaires over his proposed wealth tax: “Poor Elon Musk would only have $737 billion left!” Sen. Bernie Sanders just delivered one of the funniest, most savage takedowns of billionaire whining in recent memory. While pushing for higher taxes on the ultra-wealthy, Sanders mocked his opponents who claim such policies are too harsh on the poor, suffering billionaires: “My opponents claim that this legislation is punitive and confiscatory. Oh, we’re just picking on these poor billionaires. I mean, my God, how cruel can you be?” Then came the punchlines that had the room laughing: “If that bill were in effect this year, Elon Musk would pay $39 billion more in taxes. This confiscatory, terrible, drastic, radical piece of legislation would leave Musk with just $737 billion left to survive on. Now, I know you’re worried about him, but what do you think? Think he can make it on $737 billion?” Of course, Bernie couldn’t let the Amazon and Washington Post owner off the hook: “Jeff Bezos would owe about $14 billion more in taxes, but he would still have $265 billion to put a roof over his head.” The crowd loved it. And seriously, who wouldn’t? The idea that taxing the richest people in human history a little more is somehow cruel while millions of Americans struggle to afford groceries is peak billionaire propaganda. Bernie was referring to the Make Billionaires Pay Their Fair Share Act, which he and Rep. Ro Khanna introduced earlier this year. The bill would impose a 5 percent annual wealth tax on the roughly 940 Americans with a net worth of $1 billion or more. Economists say this would raise trillions over a decade to fund direct payments to working families, expanded healthcare, affordable housing, and other priorities, while leaving even the richest Americans with hundreds of billions of dollars in wealth. Bernie’s point is crystal clear: the ultra-wealthy have more money than any human being could possibly need in multiple lifetimes, yet they still cry victim the second anyone suggests they pay their fair share. The ultra-rich can absolutely afford to pay more, and pretending otherwise is getting harder and harder to take seriously. If you are on board with Bernie and his 5 percent wealth tax on billionaires, like and share this post.

HOLY CRAP Trump actually accomplished a miracle. Here is what he got out of Iran: - Reduce its stockpile of enriched uranium by about 98% - Limit uranium enrichment to 3.67% purity (far below weapons-grade) - Cut the number of installed centrifuges by roughly two-thirds - Only enrich uranium at one declared site (Natanz) - Stop enrichment activities at Fordow and convert it into a research facility - Redesign the Arak heavy-water reactor so it could not easily produce weapons-grade plutonium - Ship out or dilute excess enriched uranium Allow extensive inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Permit continuous monitoring of nuclear facilities and supply chains - Accept “snap” inspections under expanded monitoring rules - Avoid building new heavy-water reactors for years - Stay within strict limits on uranium stockpile size and centrifuge development for set periods ranging from 10–25 years Ooops, sorry! That was the JCPOA that Obama signed with Iran, only to have him tear it up, kill 140 kids, get hundreds of Americans injured, 13 killed, and gas prices to surge 50%.

BOMBSHELL CONFIRMED: The Supreme Court corruption scandal that was lingering from a year ago? We can now call it CONFIRMED today. Chief Justice John Roberts' wife pocketed $10.3 million recruiting for law firms with cases before his court. He illegally labeled it "salary" instead of commission on disclosure forms. Justice Clarence Thomas took $500,000 luxury yacht trips, $133,000 real estate deals, and decades of private jet vacations from billionaire Harlan Crow—all hidden from the public. Justice Neil Gorsuch sold a $1.8 million property to the CEO of Greenberg Traurig—a law firm with 22 cases before the Court—just nine days after his confirmation. He left the buyer's name BLANK on his disclosure forms. Republicans: "The Supreme Court is impartial!" The Supreme Court: a billionaire-funded cash register. Three justices. Three scandals. Tens of millions in hidden money and favors. This isn't a court. It's a corruption convention with robes. Tell me again why we should trust these people with our rights?

This New York Times piece is worth your time. Here’s what is happening, as simply as I can put it. Back in January, Trump sued the IRS, an agency he controls, demanding $10 billion over the leak of his tax returns a number of years ago. IRS lawyers did their jobs. They wrote a memo laying out the defenses that could beat the suit, including the fact that Trump filed too late. His own lawyer was in court when the leaker pleaded guilty in October 2023, more than two years before Trump sued. The Justice Department never showed up to court. Never argued back. Never used the defenses sitting on their desk. The judge got suspicious and ordered both sides to explain whether they were actually opposing each other or just colluding. The day before that brief was due, Trump dropped the suit. Same day, his Justice Department announced a $1.776 billion taxpayer-funded “anti-weaponization fund.”  Trump gets a formal apology. The IRS agrees to drop any audits of him and his family, even though a 2024 Times report found a loss in an ongoing audit could cost him over $100 million. The acting Attorney General, Trump’s former criminal defense attorney, picks the five commissioners who decide who gets paid. Trump can fire any of them. Proud Boys and Oath Keepers are not ruled out. This is the most corrupt thing I’ve ever seen from an American president. Where in the hell are my Republican colleagues? nytimes.com/2026/05/19/admin…
