Dear
@MBPatil Sir,
Why did KIADB issue a tender for consultancy services to obtain environmental clearance for
#SWIFTCity when there is an ongoing legal battle over land acquisition in the court?
Last year, in presence of Anekal MLA Sri
@MLAShivanna you had assured to the farmers (not once but twice) that you along with KIADB officers would personally visit the lands for physical inspection. But you have not fulfilled this yet. You are also misleading the public by saying that the fertile farmlands will be left out but till now no physical inspection had be done.
Sir, why you and KIADB is so adamant about this particular lands if not for vested interests? Being an Industrial minister does not mean you handover the fertile farmlands to big players.
I agree that Karnataka needs development, but at what cost? Your objective as an Industrial minister should be to balance industrial growth with sustainable development. However you are on a spree to acquire as much land as possible using KIADB in and around Bengaluru, and that too using some age-old KIADB land acquisition act 1966. Please understand that giving large chunks of land to big players does not mean development.
Why is the government not considering a new industrial act based on the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement (LARR) Act of 2013? Please consult land owners, have discussions with them and take there consent before issuing the notifications. The KIADB doesn't follow any of these, doesn't do any analysis regarding the affected families, environmental issues and acts as if the land belongs to them and farmers have to leave the land as soon as they notify. As a minister, please rectify these things.
