Banned from school, work, travel, and gyms— their faces and voices legally erased, subjected to forced and underage marriages—living under the Taliban is hell for Afghan women. The least the world can do is establish visa programs exclusively for Afghan women and girls.
Women in Afghanistan are being obliterated—no voice, no face, no existence. The Taliban’s latest decrees are nothing short of barbaric: women banned from singing, reciting poetry, or even speaking aloud in public. Their faces and bodies must hidden from the world.
This isn’t just an Afghanistan tragedy; it is a stain on the global conscience, brought about by our failure to act.

I am left reeling with hope and admiration for @Keir_Starmer based on his awesome cabinet, first press conference and personal ethic of service to the country. Not just grown up government but #awesomeethics
💬 "I would like to be optimistic that the next government will prioritise social mobility in education, listen to public opinion, and the Sutton Trust’s recommendations."
Our alum, Maisie, makes the case for social mobility ahead of polling day 👇

Beyond Thursday, I’m not naive enough to believe we will suddenly discover a ‘magic money tree’, but I do hope for honesty, integrity, adherence to International law, an end to raiding the public purse for personal gain, and a govt led by those who care about children & families.
Sir Peter Lampl has announced his decision to retire as Chairman of the Sutton Trust.
