New paper out in Icarus about lightning storms on Saturn with @WindyPlanets and others. We started working on this paper in 2018 when I was at Hampton U., so I'm very glad it's finally published! A short summary in the following thread

We conjecture that most of the storms were too weak to disrupt the cyclone, but the seventh storm was. Based on our observations, that last storm could have uplifted enough mass to destroy the cyclone in about 10 hours.

All in all, it was fun to be able to combine the fabulous images and radio data from Cassini to get a glimpse into thunderstorms on another planet.
