You either die a hero or live long enough to start a podcast. As many of you know, @joinLeland hosts over 250 free livestreams on different topics every month. From AI, to career tips, to admissions, to everything in between. Hundreds of thousands of people watch those events and it's one of the most fun parts of the platform. So @MikeMella4, @JakeLingwall, and I decided to get in on the fun. Every week, we go live on Leland and talk about important topics related to navigating careers in a world of AI. We've published 4 episodes now on Spotify and Apple Music, and are going live for our 5th show on Friday at 2pm PT / 5pm ET. Some of the topics we've covered so far: - What does the future of knowledge work look like? - What should students in college optimize for given AI? - Which jobs are cooked? Is unemployment risk overblown or not? - What are the actual valuable implementations of AI within companies? - Will AI make people dumber or smarter? - How do you keep up when everything is changing super quickly? - What needs to happen for AI to create a richer better world? It's been fun to use Leland's livestreaming experience, connect directly with our customers, and explore problems that millions of people are wrestling with. Search 'Home for Ambition' where you get your podcasts, check it out, and let me know what you think!

Prediction: work desktops will make a comeback. Just have claude always on, always cranking, employees can direct session with phones after hours easier and with it always on them. What do we need a laptop to do work for anymore?

NBA tanking fixes are neigh impossible if all rules make the draft the only controllable way to get better But still like idea of 3% odds each. Every loss takes something like .001 odds from the team that won All picks via lottery, can’t climb more than 15 spots. Unlimited fall

You can trade away up to 1% odds each year.
23
Radical NBA Draft Fix: 100% flat draft with ~3% per team. HOWEVER, you cannot rise or fall more than 20 picks from the final standings. Increase cap for rookies so more a sacrifice to sign them. Remove pick protections.

If you want to go really radical, you allow teams to trade some of their pick odds, but can't trade pick. Every team gets a 1st round draft pick every year, but you may reduce your lottery odds down to 0.1%. Teams can trade "pick position swaps" if they want.
11
Fix NBA draft: Easy enough to solve for those outside of playoffs. Could remove lottery and do a tourney. Remove “pick protections” on all trades. Incentive still stronger not to make playoff, so need bubble incentive. Lottery for pick 5 for play in teams. And go snake draft

Long community theater. Only job left in 10 years. How do I maximize this play?

Nothing worse then being stuck in a fast food drive thru line. What’s taking so long? What are you actually cooking my food in there or something? Infuriating.

Ok. Pops tart bowl being absolutely ruined by these refs

CFP: 16 teams. 2 auto bids for power 4 (so they can have divisions and send both champs). 8 at large with access to ND at least 1 G5 champ if they are ranked in the top 16. Bowls week 0 On campus - first 2 rounds Semis on New Years TP after season over

Super excited the CFP committee gave us this absolute banger of a conference game rematch played a few weeks ago and not some interesting matchup with more deserving team(s)

Hard to have less respect for a program than Notre Dame.

This is the second best SEC team? Not competitive at all. Far worse then BYU looked against Texas Tech. Fraudulent conference.

Playoffs scenario is very simple. Regardless of what happens in championship games the final 2 teams in the playoffs should be BYU and Alabama. If BYU wins Big 12 put Texas Tech in there. Thats it. End of story. Anything else is wrong and an injustice
CFP berths wrapped up as of 7 pm ET. First 8: Ohio State Indiana Texas A&M Georgia Texas Tech Oregon Ole Miss Oklahoma 2 more: ACC champ G5 champ That leaves these six realistic teams fighting for 2 at-large spots: ND Bama BYU Miami Vandy Texas VERY crowded.

BYU really needs chaos. Not just above them either. Specifically they need an Arizona win and many teams above Arizona to lose in a bad way. Having Utah and Arizona as wins in the teens will be helpful.

24 team auto bid model is vastly superior to the SEC committee driven model. Any college football format that relies on eye test is broken.
26
Unsolicited hot take: BYU vs Utah should be called “church and state” not holy war.

CFB playoff format that makes the most sense: 24 teams. 5,5,3,3 for the power conferences 4 G5 champs 4 at large. Too 8 byes host week two at home. First two rounds on campus. No conference champ. Ends week after new years. Everyone gets what they want.
61
CFP compromise: 5 AQs and 11 at large BUT - everyone can arrange a "play in week game" however they/conference would like. Final CFP Rankings BEFORE play-in determine who has "spots". Conferences can then convey those spots after play in week however they'd like. Bid Thief Sys

Example: At the end of the regular season the SEC has 6 teams in the top 16. Which means, they have 6 spots to determine however they'd like. They can do whatever they want. Champ game both get in. But the 4 other spots could be via the play in games between teams 3-10.

Higher ranked teams can help SOS by winning, or hot lower teams can be Cinderella. Makes for the most entertainment and viewers. Could give us a #10 finished SEC team vs the G5 champ in the first round of the playoff. That would be compelling television.
