Well reasoned and powerful perspective worth reading on what is wrong with state of play in @ColoradoOGCC rulemaking process. Data, facts and science over emotional #KeepItInTheGround pleas with unsubstantiated claims is all @WesternRuralCO has been asking for.

An arbitrary 2,000ft setback not only defies science, data and the will of Colorado voters, but it will halt the very innovation and technological progress that COGCC regulations would seemingly hope to achieve. #colorado #coleg #copolitics coloradopolitics.com/opinion… @colo_politics

Will the @ColoradoOGCC listen to our elected officials and take action? A 2,000 foot setback would mean important local services like fire, police and ambulance districts, schools and other social services won't receive the funding they need. #CoLeg

COGCC 2,000' setbacks head scratcher? Draft rules never contemplated quadrupling the staff recommended 500’ setback yet COGCC OPENED deliberations with a 2,000 ft proposal. Politics not science? View and SHARE @WesternRuralCO live discussion: tinyurl.com/WRLG-SaysNoToSet… #COGCC

New study suggests that the COGCC proposal to increase setback distance of #oilandgas operations from 500 to 2,000 feet would render a vast majority of potential production “unavailable” and cost #Colorado's economy billions of dollars. #coleg #copolitics energyindepth.org/new-study-…

Last week @ColoradoOGCC took an unexpected last-minute interest in proposing a standard 2K-foot setback. This arbitrary number flies in the face of the 500-foot setback COGCC’s Staff recommended. At 11am we address why this action undermines SB-181 facebook.com/WesternRuralCO/… #CoLeg

Before Labor Day Weekend, @ColoradoOGCC Staff had recommended 500-foot setbacks, but just this week the Commission began discussing 2,000-foot setbacks with final deliberations as soon as Monday. This is extremely problematic, and goes against SB-181 in numerous ways. 1/ #COLeg

According to @wallethub, Colorado has the third-lowest energy costs in the country thanks to oil and natural gas unlocked by fracking. Learn more about how our energy industry impacts Coloradans every day: cred.org/natural-gas-oil-use…

"A major part of our economy & jobs are impacted by natural gas economic downturns. SB-181's draft rules show the Commission has little knowledge of our land-use regs & ordinances. This knowledge lies with local government." Stuart McArthur, Town of Parachute #CoLeg @ColoradoOGCC
