What sense does an honor roll make if a student who didn't have to work extremely hard for their grades got A's and B's, yet a student that works extremely hard and surpasses expectations to get C's gets no recognition?

Still hearing about teachers not allowing students to go the bathroom when they ask. It’s power, control, & oppressive. If you are doing this, please stop.

Admin, when doing walk-throughs, especially informally, don’t feel you have to add a critique EVERY time. Too often teachers are told, "you did great BUT", instead, " Leave the BUTS behind”. Let them know what they did well & move on. Leave them feeling validated & appreciated!

So much wisdom here!!
It was so moving to hear high school students from @SD57PGtalk about the need to rebuild the system and cite #StreetData as part of their theory of action. Kids are brilliant, y’all. We underestimate them at our own peril. @JamilaDugan and @MarrenKatie

Signs of a positive School Culture - The greeting by the front office staff - The energy and positivity in the breakfast/early arrival area - The way students are greeted when they enter class - The principal is visible and knows students’ names #edchat
