I am incredibly grateful to the people of Croydon for placing their trust in me once again. Four years ago, I was elected to help rescue a borough that had been broken by bankruptcy, instability and failure. Together, we have stabilised the Council, restored discipline and begun rebuilding pride in Croydon. There is still much more to do, but today’s result is a clear vote to keep Croydon moving forward. This borough is my home. I was born here, went to school here, built my business here and raised my family here. It remains the greatest privilege of my life to serve the people of Croydon as your Mayor.

Delighted to open the new outdoor gym at Upper Norwood Recreation Ground today, alongside local residents, ward councillors and Croydon’s Cabinet Member for Parks and Culture, Cllr Robert Ward @moguloilman. Designed with input from Croydon Calisthenics and local residents, this fantastic new facility is another step towards my pledge to open four new outdoor gyms and four new playgrounds every year - creating 16 of each across Croydon during my four-year term. It was also great to meet personal trainer Rachael Partleton from NebuFitness, who will be running a free taster session: 📅 Friday 19 June ⏰ 9am-9.45am For more information, contact Rachael on 07738 448409.

Great to see the transformation taking shape on George Street, Dingwall Road and around East Croydon. From a maze of wands and defenders to safer crossings, improved cycling facilities, new bike parking and more welcoming public spaces, this is part of more than £40 million of investment in Croydon’s public realm. The redesign and improved public realm is helping to knit the town centre back together, bringing streets back to life, supporting businesses and creating a more welcoming town centre where people want to stop, meet and spend time during the day and into the evening. Another visible step in restoring pride in Croydon.

Four years ago, Croydon had been bankrupted, confidence had collapsed and residents felt let down. Since then, we've stabilised the finances, cut crime, tackled fly-tipping, invested in roads and parks, and started bringing investment back into our town centre. Croydon is recovering. But there is still lots more to do. My latest article for @ConHome 👇 conservativehome.com/2026/06…

Sixty years after England lifted the World Cup, we are celebrating one of Croydon’s most famous residents - Pickles the dog. When the World Cup trophy was stolen before the 1966 tournament, it was Pickles who came to the rescue, discovering football’s most famous prize hidden under a bush on Beulah Hill in Upper Norwood. His remarkable find made headlines around the world and turned a Croydon dog into an international celebrity. Thanks to our Culture Team, this fantastic new hoarding opposite Grants on Croydon High Street tells the story of the dog who saved the World Cup. As the world turns its attention to football once again, it is fitting that we remember this four-legged local hero. #FIFAWorldCup

The car park on Belgrave Road in South Norwood had become a magnet for fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles and rubbish. Local volunteers and Council teams have cleaned this site before, but each time it has been treated as a dumping ground by a small minority with no respect for the neighbourhood. As part of my zero-tolerance approach to environmental crime, we have carried out a major clean-up, removed nine abandoned vehicles, and are now installing cameras and improving security at the site. Those responsible for blighting our neighbourhoods should be under no illusion - we are coming after you. #ZeroTolerance

On the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we remember the extraordinary courage & sacrifice of all those who took part in the Normandy landings. Their bravery helped secure the freedom we enjoy today. We honour those who never returned, and we thank all who served. Lest we forget. #DDay82 #LestWeForget #WeWillRememberThem

🚫ZERO TOLERANCE🚫 Businesses that put public health at risk should expect to face the consequences. A South Norwood chicken shop has been fined £25,000 after our inspectors uncovered serious food safety failings, including mouse droppings, dirty food storage and poor hygiene standards. This is another result from our zero-tolerance approach to protecting residents and supporting responsible local businesses that play by the rules. Read more 👉 tinyurl.com/yc3n8kfk

Pleasure to sit down with Griff Griffiths to talk about Croydon’s punk scene, the lasting impact it had on the borough’s music culture, and to remember Mike Simister, lead singer of The Fanatics, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Griff co-created Are They Hostile? - the documentary celebrating Croydon’s punk and New Wave scene from 1977-1985 - and the upcoming charity screening at the David Lean Cinema on June 10 promises to be a special evening. The event will raise money for Cancer Research UK and Mountbatten Hampshire, charities chosen in Mike’s memory. 🎟️Tickets are available now - get yours here: tinyurl.com/4jmbtjth

Fly-tipping is not okay. These people seem to think it’s okay to dump a mattress on the pavement. 👀 If you know who they are, tell us so we can send them a fine to pay for the clean up costs. Report them to flytip@croydon.gov.uk #CleanerCroydon #ZeroTolerance #RestoringPride

Croydon has always been home to amazing creative talent. From David Lean to The Crown, Black Mirror, Batman and more, our borough has a proud place on screen. Now we’ll bring the creative industries together through a new forum to drive more filming, jobs and opportunity in Croydon.

Our zero-tolerance to dumped rubbish has cost a resident £250. Our enforcement team found the black bags in Norbury & tracked down the person 🕵 If something doesn't fit in your bin, it's up to you to get rid of it responsibly. #CleanerCroydon #ZeroTolerance #RestoringPride

Croydon has become one of London’s most popular filming locations, with productions including The Dark Knight Rises, Black Mirror, The Crown and Heads of State choosing our borough. At Croydon Live & Direct today, I announced plans for a new CRO-llywood Working Group to help shape a film and TV hub in Croydon, creating opportunities for the next generation of filmmakers, producers, editors, animators, technicians and storytellers. Thank you to Lizzy Lambie, Chair of Croydon’s Creative Enterprise Zone, for leading a fantastic event, and to the talented young people from @TheBRITSchool who interviewed me afterwards.

🚬 More than 66,000 illegal cigarettes have been seized in Croydon as part of our zero-tolerance crackdown. Illegal tobacco sales are often linked to organised crime, harm honest businesses and put public health at risk. If you break the law in Croydon, expect consequences.

66,000 illegal cigarettes seized. £70,000 worth of illicit tobacco removed. A vehicle linked to the operation seized. This is zero-tolerance in action. We're backing up our words with enforcement to make Croydon cleaner, safer and fairer. jasonperry.uk/news/mayor-jas…

Please share widely so people know and hopefully stop committing this crime!
Fed up with fly-tippers? So am I. We're now publishing CCTV footage of offenders caught in the act and asking residents to help identify them: lbc-app-w-wp-newsroom-p.azur… A recent case in Thornton Heath led to a £400 fine after a resident shared video evidence. If you fly-tip in Croydon and you're caught, you'll be pursued and fined. #ZeroTolerance #Croydon

Croydon’s Trading Standards team has seized more than 66,000 illegal cigarettes during a borough-wide crackdown on illicit tobacco sales. The operation also uncovered 18kg of hand-rolling tobacco and 11kg of shisha, with the haul having an estimated retail value of more than £70,000 had it been sold legally. Acting on intelligence, officers carried out raids on six shops across the borough. Investigations remain ongoing, and a vehicle linked to the operation was seized after being identified as being used to store contraband. The operation forms part of my zero-tolerance approach to tackling criminal activity that harms Croydon’s businesses and communities. Read the full story here 👉 tinyurl.com/47vrk86n
