In March I asked the Minister a very simple question: How many people were treated for an acquired brain injury last year? Today he confirmed the data collection on ABI is so inadequate, the Government do not know. We need an ABI strategy now! @UKABIF @HeadwayUK @TheBrainCharity

Accurate data is so badly needed to ensure adequate service provision for people with acquired brain injuries AND their families and carers. The bridging document had better be good given it’s taken 28 months to get to this point! Thanks for the continued pressure @RhonddaBryant

Every 90 seconds someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with a brain injury. Staff at Guild Lodge – the only specialist NHS service of its kind - have been using Action for Brain Injury Week to raise awareness that they can happen to anyone at any time bit.ly/3o9GOoI

As it’s #ABIweek I’m asking why years of research into family impact of ABI has translated into so few interventions. At @AT_Conference family members, many who regard themselves “lucky” having accessed support, speak for the thousands whose needs remain unmet @NicolaJHughes1
