Congratulations to these great young surgeons.
🎉🎓 Congratulations to our incredible pediatric orthopedic surgery fellows! 🎓🎉 We are thrilled to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and the countless hours they've spent honing their skills. Dr. Aretakis is moving on to University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and Dr. Nash will take a job at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s in Temple, TX. And, we are excited to announce that Dr. Morgan Hadley will be spending a year at Boston Children’s in Sports Medicine and return as staff to @Nemours in 2026 as part of our Sports Medicine Team! Additionally, congratulations to Dr. Arianna Trionfo for being awarded the coveted teaching award (voted on by the fellows) for a second time! Cheers to new beginnings and a bright future ahead! #OrthopedicSurgery #pedsortho #Graduation #Fellowship #ProudMoment #NewBeginnings #mentoring

As part of my work with @SSS_Foundation & Harms Study Group, we set out to determine modifiable risk factors to prevent massive blood transfusions during spinal fusions in patients with cerebral palsy. In this retrospective study, we found that a combination of optimizing preoperative nutrition status, using pedicle screw constructs when possible, and using antifibrinolytics when not contraindicated is recommended to reduce the risk of perioperative massive blood transfusions. During the study period, it was found that the rate of transfusion has decreased over time, making the surgery safer. #spinalfusion #cerebralpalsy #orthotwitter #researchpapers #research #surgery

Congratulations to Margaret Crownover, Medical Student at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, for presenting “Does Socioeconomic Status Affect Severity of Neuromuscular Scoliosis at Time of Surgery” at Thomas Jefferson University’s 2025 Scholarly Inquiry Research Symposium, where medical students showcase the results of their research project conducted over the course of their 1st and 2nd year. This poster presentation represents a culmination of work in partnership with our Cerebral Palsy Team led by Dr. Wade Shrader (@orthodawg91), the Spine Team, and our Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator, Petya Yorgova. The aim of the Scholarly Inquiry program is to equip medical students with the skills and experience necessary to become critical consumers and producers of medical knowledge. Our team always enjoys supporting these students and learning from each other. #spine #scoliosis #SDOH #disparity #healthequity #Research
