🧬🦠 AMR/Microbial Genomics/Bioinformatics. Tracking AMR bacteria from a One-Health perspective. Passionate ➡️ phylogenomics, plasmids and phages. 🇦🇷 in 🇨🇭
After 7 years, I’m saying goodbye to the lab that shaped a big part of my scientific journey.
I earned here my PhD in Genomics & Bioinformatics, publishing research and building the lab’s bioinformatics pipelines from the ground up. A challenging and very rewarding experience.
Grateful to colleagues, mentors, and collaborators for the trust, discussions, and shared problem-solving over the years.
Looking ahead to new challenges and opportunities, and excited to keep building and collaborating.

Hot take: It is way past time we abandon the commonly used "fundamentals first"/task decomposition/isolated drilling approach to teach a movement skill to a new learner! It is not necessary. LP vs NLP does NOT depend.

855 pilotos en la historia de la Fórmula 1. Solo 26 fueron argentinos.
Tuvieron que pasar 23 años para volver a tener a uno de los nuestros en la categoría máxima.
Es ahora el momento donde mas hay que bancarlo. Juntos somos invencibles.

Observation: the majority of “game intelligence” in team sports comes from the coach - through the asymmetric transmission of mental models (schemes/structures/plays/a series if the this happens the do that rules) given to the players from the coach.

In the 20th century, non-Euclidean geometry transformed how we model the world with pen and paper. In this century, it’s revolutionizing how we model the world with machines.

Do you make core genome alignments for phylogenomics? @monaltaouk and I explored how including sites with some missing data (a soft core) can improve analysis, especially for large datasets.
