A cute story from Israel: shortly after 10/7, Sheizaf Meshulam was contacted by a volunteer named Inbar who wanted to support military spouses in these stressful days. The young stranger came over, cleaned, cooked, ran errands and babysat Sheizaf’s young girls while their father was on the front lines. The family had no idea Inbar was taking the day off from Judo training to be with them. Yesterday they watched the babysitter win Silver in the #Olympics.
Congratulations Inbar Lanir! A champion through and through.

One of my favorite authors, @peterstraubnyc, died today. His Blue Rose trilogy of Koko, Mystery & The Throat were three of the most atmospheric, frightening books I’ve ever read. Recently I’d keep searching for word of a new book. I’m so sad there will be no more stories.

Stop asking why. It’s clear. Gerrymandering is killing our democracy and making it impossible to pass gun laws. These districts reinforce polarization & create a system with no way of taking centrist positions on hot button issues and keep your job after the next election cycle.
