It's like asking someone for coffee and then insisting you go to Tim Hortons when there's five better coffee shops on the same street.

"Who gets to decide which lawful questions are too dangerous to ask?" The Carney government's new Bill C-34 doesn't ban speech outright, it outsources censorship to AI companies and regulators. And that, writes @cvangeyn, is more dangerous. 🧵👇(1/5)

We're just expected to pay for it.
Toronto is one of the host cities for the World Cup and from what I've seen the vibes just aren't there. This is one of the most global and multicultural cities there is but everything is so overpriced and it just feels like this thing wasn't built for ordinary locals to enjoy.

"Canada's alleged world-class digital economy does not reach everyone." In a new op-ed, Myke Agecoutay, former Chief of Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation, highlights a growing disconnect between Canada's innovation ambitions and the reality facing Indigenous communities who still do not have access to reliable internet. 👇🧵 (1/4)

Elbows officially down. Which was always an electoral strategy, not one with Canada’s interests at heart.
BREAKING: The Financial Times is reporting Canada has quietly shifted its trade strategy, pivoting from open defiance of U.S. tariffs to a "Fortress North America" pitch aimed at winning back a seat at the CUSMA negotiating table before the July 1 deadline. 👇🧵 (1/5)

Solid new ad from the Conservative team.
Canadians aren’t “technically” hungry, “technically” unemployed, or “technically” homeless. Carney’s Liberal recession has real costs, and Canadians are the ones paying the price. Check this out 👇

The Prime Minister apparently has the same contempt for women’s history as he does for female reporters.
The Persons Case (1929) didn’t give Canadian women the vote. They’d already been voting federally for more than a decade by then. If you’re gonna do performative feminism, do it better.
