This sums up what I've been saying for 25 years. How we built our city can't sustain transit. If we want good transit, we need to work hard to rebuild our city around it... not try to make transit work in a car dominated landscape.
And yes, developers should pay.

If you build apartments in a cul-de-sac where public transit can't get to them, you should be held responsible for increasing traffic congestion. That's what high density without non-car options ALWAYS means.

Pryor is a perfect example. Not a single housing unit facing Pryor - they all face inward onto interior streets.
Also - Fulton County built a library that is awful use of land. Why didn't we build housing here with a library at the bottom?
This is also next to the beltline.

Ribbon cutting at the Atlanta Municipal Market aka @TheCurbMarket yesterday. 4 new businesses open, FIFA World Cup energy building and I got to bring my family.
Been on the board since 2023. Watching this market come alive with recent investments and the World Cup starting next week is something special.

I think there are serious challenges on MARTA. But come on. Let's be consistent.

There are 1000 things that MARTA can do to improve safety and security - 100%.
No one should feel unsafe on MARTA - 100%
However, I, and my kids, almost died because of a GSP high speed chase ended near my kids school.
I was closer to death then any other point of my life.

Third year in a row (at least) of @MARTAservice doing single tracking the weekend of Inman Park fest.
How many people try Marta this weekend but end up being discouraged by how long they have to wait.
We need to fix weekend rail service!!!

My last post on the @MARTAservice Rapid A Line.
I rode to work at @TheCurbMarket and it was 20 minutes door to door.
Normally a 30 minute walk and a 12 minute bike ride.
Nice to have an option in between!

Glad you had a great service. I live in one of those areas where the Next Gen cut direct bus service and I now have to ride the train. My Sunday trip went from being 15 minutes to about an hour and a 15 because of the stupid rail service this weekend.

After trying the new Rapid A Line yesterday, I decided to try our more of the @MARTAservice Next Gen bus network on this gorgeous spring day!

I am really excited about the next gen network! I went places today that I was confident in going to. The next step is trying a new completely random place and seeing how it works.
If MARTA can minimize bus cancellations and sort out some traffic issues, it can work.

My suggestions for @MARTAservice FWIW:
1. Promote the hell out of the next gen ntwk
2. Add bus only lanes to Piedmont/Courtland
3. If a route is successful, increase its frequency even more
4. Sort out bus bunching on the Rapid A Line
5. Fix weekend train service now!!!!!!!!!!!
