My brother Brad died too young of pancreatic cancer (it still has one of the lowest survival rates). I'm taking part again this year in PurpleStride, raising funds for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Network. Please help support cures & care. Thanks! secure.pancan.org/site/TR/Pu…

If you would like some hope and realism in this terrible moment, take 8 minutes to listen to this. I'm not ashamed to say I teared up hearing an actual adult address the challenges facing the US and the free world. Bravo! Vive la France! πŸ‡«πŸ‡· youtube.com/watch?v=j51HZncB…

I wish cruelty, violence & xenophobia weren't American, but our history says otherwise. But our history is also kindness, welcome, care for others, and speaking and acting against injustice. May we rise up to protect innocents from unjust suffering. May we beat this evil back.
ICE is arresting third graders, handcuffing them and putting them in detention with adult criminals.

Well-deserved. I doubt she cares or will listen, but let's her know people are fed up with her terrible positions that enrich the ultra-wealthy, hurt the most needy, undermine Indiana families, and endanger American security & prosperity.
HAPPENING NOW: Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN) is currently getting absolutely showered in non-stop boos at her town hall in Hamilton County, Indiana

I am no conspiracy theorist, but it really feels like they are trying to destroy our country from within. Health care, public schools, universities, research, law firms, federal workers, the environment are all getting the axe. What was it again that it made America great? wsj.com/politics/policy/rfk-…

UPDATE - the government is arguing that the President does actually have the authority to simply declare any non-citizens to be "alien enemies" who can be deported to foreign prisons. We should care because 1) those people have rights, and 2) we're next. bsky.app/profile/bgrueskin.b…

Either we all have unalienable rights or none of us do.

Either we all have unalienable rights or none of us do.
If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

Also, judges - not the President - interpret the law and decide what's legal.

When a judge stops a president from doing something illegal or unconstitutional, that's not a "threat to democracy." That's democracy working.

What is most important in this moment is also what will last forever - faith, hope, and love. βœοΈβš“οΈβ€οΈ

If the only consistent example of Jesus Christ's personal conduct that your favorite internet pastor finds applicable to his life is flipping tables and telling off Pharisees, you're following a false teacher.

Much of Patrick's life is shrouded in mystery and legend, but one thing is sure - his return to the very people who kidnapped and enslaved him to bring them the good news of God's love, life, and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. That's worth celebrating. ☘️ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_…

Hello, US Government Tech Support? I have Constitutional Republic 2.0 with checks & balances, but recent updates have made it buggy and unstable. Now "Totalitarian Plutocracy" is using all system resources and shutting down programs. It's totally unresponsive to command prompts.

All that will be left for the Christian Nationalists to show for their labors here are thorns and thistles, rust and moths. Rather seek the glory of the kingdom of Heaven where the tree of life is never without fruit and rust and moth are no more. Seek the King reigning in hearts

"Relaxing the rules of war" will appeal to some, but amorality when it comes to taking life is a pretty terrible position to stake out. Narcissistic nihilism seems to be SOP for our government now. I, for one, do not want to live in the Roman Empire. theguardian.com/us-news/2025…

Only 6 weeks in, and literally everything is far worse than people warned. Hostile, ignorant, corrupt, incompetent, mendacious, spiteful; attacking education, veterans, healthcare, federal workers, gov't itself, allies, the economy, the Constitution. How long can this go on?

The government will not or cannot articulate why they're deporting a legal permanent resident. It's just vibes - "Well, look! You can just tell!" Absolutely stunning. Kudos to @NPRMichel on trying to get an actual answer. npr.org/2025/03/13/nx-s1-532…

Name brand snacks. When I was in grade school, my dad left his corporate job to go to grad school. That meant desserts went from Oreos to almond windmills and soda went from Dr Pepper to Faygo.
