New @NComms paper from @plant_soil 🥳
Soil carbon's stability under future climate change is uncertain. We challenge current understanding demonstrating how plant inputs interact with soil microbes and soil minerals to determine soil carbon stability nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
How vulnerable is tropical soil carbon to warming?
A huge question investigated through this cool PhD opportunity. Great supervisory team, panama field studies, learning state-of-the-art lab methods - what's not to like :)

Yesterday at @royalwelshshow, young farmers Oliver, Harry, and Elliott had a blast with the #Cropper game at the Western Bioenergy stand! They scored awesome @BiomassConnect and Envirocrops goodies! 🎉
Are you at the show today or tomorrow? Swing by and play #Cropper!

We need all the low carbon energy we can afford and with bioenergy the right choices are not always obvious or intuitive. If you have an appetite for understanding complexity and clearly communicating with policy makers to deliver change take a look at this post.
We're hiring for a Biomass Policy Fellow to work at the interface between science and policy, providing independent scientific evidence and informing policy development in areas relating to sustainable #biomass and #bioenergy.

Our monitoring of these experimental plots has shown that in the first year combining low-dose biochar and slurry application has benefits for N retention and grass yield compared to slurry alone, so we're keen to see how our 2nd application in spring 2024 builds on this
NEWS: Promising results from #biochar field trials show that a low-dose application to grassland has benefits for crop productivity & nutrient retention
Black Bull Biochar, @SRUC & @UK_CEH are assessing its effectiveness in an @energygovuk-funded project ceh.ac.uk/news-and-media/new…
