An easy October unit of work for the primaries. Ideal for whole-cluster engagement: two weeks to create / perfect their own masterpieces (sound fx encouraged!) before I collate into a whole-cluster Spooky Songbook for them all to play during Halloween week. A big hit every year.

Asking kids what music they want to learn is unhinged in the TikTok era: “You know the TikTok where a bunch of trumpets and whatyamacallems (trombones) stand round a bowl of chocolate strawberries and play doodoo, do, do, dooooo, doodoo do? That one. Have you seen it?” ???

Appalling & incompetent customer service from @O2 this week. Many hours on the phone every night trying to solve what should be a simple issue, brought on by their error. Their customer service is fundamentally flawed if, no matter what day or time you call, no-one can solve…

…the problem. Absolutely fed up of false problems and lack of action. It really shouldn’t be this difficult. Naming and shaming here as a last resort and in sheer desperation that someone will do something. Not hopeful at this stage.

Well done @deanschs Junior Brass Ensemble for opening the Junior Awards Ceremony tonight with a set of three fanfares. That was the last event of the year for the secondary school, and what a fabulously busy year it’s been. We are definitely all ready for the holidays next week!

SUPER proud of the DCHS Cluster Band pupils for performing so confidently at our Summer Showcase today. It’s not easy to get up and play solo/small group in front of such a large audience, everyone handled themselves brilliantly. Practice pays off!
