Beautiful day marching up Fifth Avenue with @MikeBloomberg for the annual Israel Day Parade. The NYPD was not messing around with security: this was the most extensive security plan that the NYPD has ever put together for this event so that everyone could celebrate safely. Thank you to every member of the NYPD who was out today protecting our city.

I’m proud to march alongside thousands of New Yorkers in today’s Israel Day Parade. At a time of rising antisemitism, it’s more important than ever that we come together in celebration of our Judaism and connection to Israel. As home to the largest Jewish community outside of Israel, New York City sends a powerful message today: we are choosing joy over hate, unity over division, and pride over fear.

I got to march with some incredible people today. @anilaali is such an inspiration about interfaith connection between Jews and Muslims. This was all organized by my friend Sheikh Musa Drammeh. @NYCMayor might be trying to divide us but these brave warriors are bringing us closer!!

More than a million Jews call New York City home, and today’s Israel Day Parade showcased the spirit of that community. NYC Comptroller Levine joined elected officials, community leaders, and thousands of New Yorkers in celebrating Jewish heritage and traditions. At a pre-parade legislative breakfast, the @MetCouncil also honored Comptroller Levine for his work advancing affordable housing initiatives for New Yorkers.

NYC’s Israel Day Parade is the largest celebration of its kind in the nation, and I was honored to march with @NYPDSHOMRIMSOCI and our Jewish officers. Thank you to the men and women of the NYPD and all our law enforcement partners who made today’s parade safe and possible.

Neighbors who became friends, all of whom care about the safety and security of those who live in D39. We have made it clear we are no longer willing to live in fear. Grateful to be a part of this movement to hold our Brooklyn elected officials accountable. Join us!
Blown away by the turnout of 75 volunteers ready to table, door-knock, and phonebank! District 39 residents fed up with @CMShahanaHanif are taking nothing for granted in the upcoming Democratic Primary. This is what a local, grassroots, people-powered movement looks like! 1/2

Our family had a great dinner at Miriam last night - a restaurant in Park Slope that was recently vandalized because its owner is Israeli. The despicable graffiti is part of a disturbing spike in antisemitic incidents in New York and beyond. If you’re able, show your support for the Miriam team by stopping in. Sit down for a meal - and stand up against hatred.

I had the honor of speaking at the annual JCRC Congressional breakfast. February 2025 represents my 10-year anniversary as a proud Zionist. JCRC brought me to Israel for the first time ten years ago in February 2015. The CEO of JCRC is Mark Treyger, one of my closest friends in politics. Mark and I entered the City Council in 2014, traveled to Israel together in 2015, and have been partners in combating antisemitism ever since.

We have paralyzing levels of traffic in midtown and downtown—slowing emergency response times, harming our climate fight. We have desperate funding needs in our subways—stations in need of renovations, outdated signaling etc. How are we going to fix these things now??

100,000 marchers. 25,000 spectators. That’s the record-breaking number of people who joined together to bring the hostages home and show their love for Israel — and that @NYPDnews and @NYCMayor worked so hard to keep safe at @JCRCNY 's Israel Day on Fifth.
