It was an honour to meet the Queen, to be invited to sit with her over dinner when she toured, Canada, and to see her playful side behind the veil. She was kind and even joked about her crown slipping around.

The "independent mechanism" is not mandatory & the one code can have up to approx 60 interpretations where NSOs decide appropriate sport specific behaviors. This limits the ability for athletes to understand their rights and to take action. @daphnegilbert@s_guilbeault

What wasn't shared today during the safe sport announcement is that the "independent mechanism" is not mandatory - therefore NSOs currently decide the level of athlete protection. We're asking @s_guilbeault to lead by making this mechanism implemented by @CRDSC_SDRCC MANDATORY.
