The goat gets left out of every serious conversation about sustainable food, which is a shame, because it does a job no other farm animal will touch.
A cow is a grazer. A sheep is a grazer. Both want grass, on ground that is at least walkable. The goat is a browser, and its tastes run somewhere else entirely:
- It eats scrub, bramble, gorse and thistle, the spiky stuff everything else avoids.
- It strips the woody growth and lower branches that choke a neglected hillside.
- It works terrain too steep, too rough, and too overgrown for cattle or sheep to bother with.
- It thrives on exactly the marginal, reverting, abandoned land that grows nothing anyone wants.
This makes the goat the pioneer of the whole system. Put goats onto a bramble-choked hillside and they browse it back, season by season, until grass can establish again. Once the grass comes, the sheep and cattle can follow. The goat opens ground the others could never use.
And at the end of it you get milk that many people who cannot tolerate cow dairy digest perfectly well, meat that more of the world's population eats than any other, and a cleared hillside that was an impenetrable thicket the year before.
The goat asks for the worst land on the farm and quietly makes it useful. It has been doing humanity's roughest groundwork for ten thousand years, and we still treat it as an afterthought with a comedy reputation.

Current stats are 400 people convicted of rape per year are foreign born (1 in 5 Rapes) . One in 25 Rapists reoffend!
Currently 10k Foreign National Offenders (FNOs) are in prison! (10% of the Prison pop)
10k FNOs are roaming free in our communities, released because for whatever reason we couldn’t deport them
The law says an FNO sentenced to over 1 year or more prison should be automatically deported.
It’s not happening, we’re currently doing about 3k a year of a possible 18k and most of those are walk outs into EU countries and Albania. Deportations to the Asia, Middle East and North Africa are almost non existent, yet these are the places where the majority of rapists and murderers are from.
We propose rule changes to existing laws, carrot and stick methodology
Sentencing Judge and not Home office to decide if a FNO should be deported or not, this decision is not appealable but all normal appeals connected to criminal courts stand.
75% discount on all sentences to people who agree to voluntarily deportation. All current rules regarding Foreign Early Release Scheme to be retained, if they return to 🇬🇧 sentence restarts etc
Any human rights appeal regarding deportation can only start after prison sentence is finished, the prisoner should then be moved to secure accommodation while appeal is heard, the prisoner can not be released into 🇬🇧 regardless of how long appeal takes.
We want the uk government to negotiate with Rwanda to accept our failed Asylum Seekers and FNOs awaiting appeals. When the choice is agreeing to deportation and going home early or going to Rwanda by force, what would you choose?

UK GOVERNMENT SACKED ITS OWN BORDER WATCHDOG
David Neal was the man the government hired to inspect UK borders and make sure they actually worked. He did exactly that. What he found was not good. He wrote it all up in official reports. The Home Office locked those reports in a drawer.
When he finally went to a newspaper to warn the public that private planes were landing in the UK with almost nobody checking who was on them, the Home Secretary James Cleverly @JamesCleverly fired him.
Here is what Neal actually found.
At London City Airport, only 21% of flights flagged as high risk were checked by immigration officers.
Not some of the time. As a yearly average.
He said it was a scandal and dangerous for the country.
The Home Office said he had the numbers wrong. Then they fired him.
At the moment he was sacked, the @HomeOffice was holding back 15 of his finished inspection reports. Some had been sitting there for 18 months without being shown to the public.
The agreed deadline for publishing them was eight weeks. Not one report met that deadline across his entire three years in the job.
When they finally released 13 of the reports, they chose to do it on the same afternoon that a separate major inquiry published its findings... Draw your own conclusions.
What was actually in those reports? Border control posts left with nobody manning them. Officers at e-passport gates described as distracted and without basic radios. The whole airport border operation rated as neither effective nor efficient.
Neal told MPs directly: I have been sacked for doing my job.
He also told @BBC the Home Office is dysfunctional and described senior officials rolling their eyes when he brought them his findings.
He said the government contacted him three separate times warning him not to speak publicly about the unpublished reports.
He had almost no other way to get the information out.
The people who fired him for raising border security concerns were the same people who spent years promising the public they had taken back control of the borders.

oh … polling staff say family voting did happen and their staff were abused when they tried to stop it.
But this can’t be right? because ‘trusted’ journalists, political commentators, politicians AND the police said that family voting hadn’t happened and it was just far right propaganda.
The only way to stop this sort of disinformation is to ban social media.

Britain should stop building wind farms because the country has too much electricity, the UK boss of EDF Energy has said. The energy giant’s boss said Miliband’s expansion of wind and solar power was creating far more electricity generation capacity than needed, meaning the UK needs to build twice the transmission grid. All at high fixed costs and resulting in taxpayers increasingly having to pay to switch off turbines at times when the grid cannot handle their power.

One only has to look at the sheer scale of the planet to see the flaws in the climate agenda.
Combined, every town and city on Earth occupies a mere 3% of the world's landmass. The true driving forces for regional climates rest in the oceans and major landforms - the planet's genuine engine rooms. Oceans cover 72% of the globe to an average depth of 2.3 miles. They contain roughly 86% of the global carbon reservoir and 91% of all retained heat energy; by comparison, our thin atmosphere holds a meager 1 to 2% of each.
Ancient ocean currents give balance to the world's weather, carrying tropical warmth to northern regions in cycles that drive migration, cloud formation and global storms. Landforms guide ocean currents across deep geological time, as tectonic changes to continental land masses reshape the entire world.
The legacy of ignoring this planetary scale of the environment can be seen today in our defaced countryside and industrialised coastal retreats. Sweeping vistas are being vandalised by massive arrays of wind and solar structures, causing immeasurable localised environmental carnage.
It has created a perpetual, asset-swapping loop of renewal and replacement at a staggering, endless cost to national economies, while hollowing out traditional industries and aggressively mining the earth for rare metals like copper and silver.
The back-end of this 'clean' energy loop is an impending hazardous waste crisis. With global solar capacity now officially surpassing 2 Terawatts (TW)—representing between 7 and 8 billion solar panel equivalents—the world is utterly unprepared for the onslaught of disposal.
The International Renewable Energy Agency projects up to 78 million metric tons of solar e-waste by 2050. Because there is little financial incentive for complex recycling, up to 90% of decommissioned panels currently go straight into the ground. When left to fracture in landfills, heavy metals like lead and cadmium can leach into surrounding soil and groundwater.
This will remain the most visible legacy from the Twenty-First Century.
