Continuous improvement isn’t always about buying a new machine, although new additions are definitely in the near future. Sometimes it’s about optimizing the environment around an existing, trusted, reliable machine. We recently completed a shop upgrade around our Haas GR-510 gantry router: 🔧 Raised the overhead crane 16” into the ceiling structure for additional lifting clearance 🔧 Designed and fabricated custom in-house risers to elevate the machine 8” for improved ergonomics and accessibility The result: ✔ Better workflow ✔ Improved operator comfort ✔ Increased usable space and clearance ✔ A more efficient setup overall Engineered by the team, for the team. #Manufacturing #CNC #Machining #Engineering #Fabrication #ShopLife #ContinuousImprovement #IndustrialAutomation

🔦 Employee Spotlight: Joe Williamsen Jr. Joe has been an integral part of the Jerit team for 7 years, bringing precision and expertise to his role as a CNC Programmer/Machinist. As part of our in-house machining team, Joe helps turn complex designs into high-quality, real-world components that drive our automated systems. This capability is essential to how we operate, allowing us to prototype quickly, stay cost-effective, and keep projects moving fast for our customers. Proud to have Joe on the team and appreciate everything he brings to the shop every day We recently asked Joe a few questions about his work, what motivates him, and who he is outside of the Jerit machine shop, and we’re excited to share a little more about one of the amazing people behind our in-house machining. Q; What makes Jerit Automation different from other companies you’ve worked for? A: What makes Jerit Automation different from other companies I have worked for is that it is managed very well compared to other places I have been. I worked for companies with upward towards 150 employees, which makes things a little harder. Q; What does a typical day look like for you at Jerit? A: Well, I start my day by arriving at work at 6 am. If I was working on a job from the day before, I will finish that up, then it's on to the next. I usually stay really busy, which makes the day go by fast. Q: What’s your favorite machine in the shop and why? A: My favorite machine would have to be the VF4 5 axis. You can complete 4 and 5 op parts in just 2 ops, making it very efficient! Q: What’s your favorite weekend activity? A: My favorite weekend activity would have to be hanging out with my son Jace! #EmployeeSpotlight #CNCMachining #Manufacturing #Automation #Teamwork #BuiltByJerit

A small snapshot of 20 years of growth in a single image. 👈 The Left: one of our earliest acrylic presses, built over two decades ago by our founder, Jerry TerLaan, in his garage workshop — a reliable machine that represented who we were at the time. 👉 The Right: just one of the many large-scale automation systems we’ve commissioned in the past year — significantly larger, more complex, and engineered with the integration, precision, and scalability that define Jerit Automation today. Over the last 20 years, we’ve evolved from building straightforward automated equipment to delivering fully integrated, multi-station systems featuring advanced controls, robotics, vision inspection, data collection, and full SCADA connectivity. This comparison isn’t just about size. It represents the growth of our engineering depth, manufacturing capabilities, and the trust our customers place in us to solve increasingly complex challenges. We’re proud of where we started — and even more excited about where we’re headed. #Automation #Manufacturing #Engineering #IndustrialAutomation #Robotics #MachineDesign #JeritAutomation

This week our team had the opportunity to support the Professional Design capstone experience at Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University Polytechnic, where multidisciplinary engineering teams are applying the skills they’ve developed throughout their coursework to solve emulated real-world automation challenges 🤝⚙️ We were proud to mentor and work alongside local students from mechanical, manufacturing, robotics, and general engineering disciplines — including Arick Nitzsche & Eli Greetis (robotics) and Kirk Volin (controls), as well as faculty instructor Jerry Gintz. These collaborations support a shared mission: strengthening engineering education to help re-shore American manufacturing and build the next generation of innovators. Erik and Dan specifically assisted with connecting and programming SCARA robots from Epson Robots | Americas over Ethernet/IP to a PLC and demonstrated some of Jerit's recent SCADA Ignition implementations from Inductive Automation #Automation #Engineering #Manufacturing #Robotics #IndustrialAutomation #ASU #STEM
