Oh my word.
I've had a realisation about one of the sliding doors moments in the pandemic.
I had a chat with a consultant anaesthetist a couple of months ago when he asked me why I wore an ffp3 mask, and a couple of things he said in reply didn't make sense.
I can’t look at the news or read my TL. I haven’t figured out how to talk to my students about where we’re at & what’s coming. I’m doing my best to reassure my kid, & damn it’s all really fucking hard because I’m heartbroken & terrified. I know I’m not alone. 1/
Here’s the #ElectionDay info I’m sharing with my students tomorrow. Please use and share!
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5! There are lots of ways to engage in democracy this week!
- Know your rights as a voter (vote.org/election-protection…). 1/
- If the machines are down at your polling place, ask for a paper ballot.
- If your citizenship, criminal record, or other qualifications are questioned, immediately call the Election Protection Hotline (see above) where trained volunteers are available to help. 7/
- If election officials can’t confirm that you meet all the requirements to vote, request a provisional ballot. It's “provisional” because it will only be counted if election officials are able to verify later that you meet all requirements. (vote.org/election-protection…) 8/8
