@CityofDenver is aware that outdoor warning sirens were activated inadvertently today. There is currently no tornado threat to public safety. However, residents are encouraged to rely on official sources, including the @NWSBoulder for emergency weather information and alerts. We understand that unexpected siren activations can be concerning and appreciate the public's patience and understanding. The cause of the activation is being reviewed, and appropriate steps will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

There is a horrible situation in Pueblo right now. This from the CSP: On February 17, 2026, at approximately 10:02 a.m., the Colorado State Patrol responded to a multi-vehicle crash involving semis and passenger vehicles on southbound I-25 at milepost 92, just south of Pueblo Boulevard. There is a preliminary estimate of at least 30 vehicles involved, including semis and passenger vehicles. Initial reports from troopers at the scene include four confirmed fatalities. In addition, there are reports of injuries. It is unknown at this time how many people are involved or the extent of the injuries. Northbound I-25 is closed at milepost 93. Southbound I25 is closed at milepost 94. Due to low visibility, drivers are urged to delay traveling until conditions improve. The Colorado State Patrol Vehicular Crimes Unit is the lead agency of this crash. We will provide updates when available.

The Governor says if the survey results don't show support for the bridge, they will find another way to celebrate Colorado's 150th year of statehood.

Is this tone deaf when the state is facing budget cuts? “We could say we are ignoring our 150th (anniversary) and it would make no dent in the cuts. I mean, these are very small amounts of money that are being talked about federally and in the state,” Gov. Polis said.

Caution: Local Bears May Redecorate Your Ride One of our deputies responded to a different kind of car break-in on Saturday morning in the foothills. A bear decided to hop inside someone’s vehicle, leaving behind a mess only a bear could appreciate. Bears are good at breaking into vehicles, but not so good at getting out. This is a good reminder to keep your vehicles locked, even when at home. Also, bears can smell any snacks you may leave in your car, so don’t tempt them to turn your car into a bear buffet! #Bears #Wildlife #BearAware @CPW_NE @COParksWildlife #KeepColoradoWild
