While most major institutions of American labor were decidedly anti-fascist in the 1930s, the Jewish Labor Committee (JLC) and Jewish labor unions held a special interest in anti-Nazi organizing.
JLC yesterday joined 12 national Jewish organizations representing a diverse Jewish community to express our deep concern about the nomination of Paul Ingrassia to lead the Office of Special Counsel, in a letter to Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

"Just two years ago, when our union ratified a new national contract with UPS, it looked like management finally came to its senses. As part of our deal, the company agreed to start putting A/C and ventilation systems in our trucks. For me and my fellow Teamsters, it felt like our prayers were answered. Finally, we wouldn't have to spend more summers worrying about whether we would make it home safe to our families. UPS is intentionally refusing to live up to the promises they made in our contract. The way they treat us, it's like they forget we're human. While they continue to disrespect us, hundreds of thousands of UPS Teamsters are ready to fight for what we're owed."

It's good news that public approval of unions has climbed to near record levels But you might not know—since the 2008 recession, public approval for just about every major institution has plummeted, YET SUPPORT FOR LABOR UNIONS HAS INCREASED SUBSTANTIALLY
